Title: Principles of Church Service

< Principles of Church Service (Nehemiah 3:1-4)
<
< Dear friends! There are some parts of the Bible that are not of interest to you. The part about genealogy like Matthew 1 and Genesis 5 is not interesting. Neh 3 is also not a fun part. It doesn't seem to make any sense. However, all the Bibles are inspired by God. So, what lesson can we learn from Neh 3 today? Neh 3 how should we do the Lord's work today? Today, we are teaching the principle of service, how should we serve the body of the Lord, the church? This morning, I want to think about the "principle of church service" while examining the text Ne 3
<
I. cooperation
<
< Think of cooperation as the principle of church service. In Neh 3, there are as many as 75 people. It is saying that the rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem was not done by one or two people. Several people worked cooperatively in various fields. The people of Israel voluntarily did what they had to do where they were supposed to stand. That is why this great and great long-awaited work of the nation of Israel, which had not been accomplished during the 1st century, was accomplished in just 52 days. Nehemiah says: "I didn't do this, we did it. We did it together." Nehemiah emphasized that the city of Jerusalem was a partnership between the people of Israel. There are some things in this world that have been done by one individual. But the work of the church is not done alone.
<
It is something that many people have to work together to do. God's work is what we do, not what we do. That is why cooperation in church work is more important than anything else. "Two people lying together are warm, but how can one be warm? One will be defeated, but two can fight. The threefold cord does not break." Ecclesiastes 4:11-12 That's what you did. In our church, several members are working together to serve. The finances are also being taken care of by all members of the school working together. The Bible calls the church the body of Christ (Ephesians 1:23). The body has many members. These many members help each other and cooperate, so that the body can be maintained and activities can be smoothed out. The church is like this. In Neh 3, all the people of Israel became one. People of different professions have become one. The whole family became one.

II. share
<
< Consider sharing as a principle of church service. When rebuilding the city of Jerusalem, the Israelites shared their share. So, the huge ministry was completed in just 52 days. In Neh 3, many occupations are mentioned. Biblical scholars say there must have been more than 15 occupations. There were so many different types of people, each with their own profession, serving God's work. This is precious. The word that appears the most in Neh 3 is "after that". This verse does not simply refer to order. It says that the people of Israel did what they were supposed to do in the position where they were supposed to stand, and the next person did what they were supposed to do in the position where they were supposed to stand. In this way, the people of Israel worked in an orderly and harmonious way, sharing and working together. So he accomplished that great work. Everyone! God's work is not something that I alone do hard. have to share.
<
< And the person in charge must keep his or her position. Soccer is not something you can do alone. Each player has to keep his or her position well. You have to share the work of God and the church and keep your position. When it comes to sharing, there will be places where it is easy and places where it is difficult. Some are glorified and some are not. But the people of Israel did the work that was entrusted to them without complaining wherever they were entrusted with it. Also, the walls must be built together. No matter how perfectly I build the place I'm assigned to, it's of no use if the other person building next to me can't build the wall. I will value my work and do it diligently. And you need to know that the work that others have done is also valuable. While working in the church, the work or organization I am assigned to is important, but the work and organization of others is also important. Therefore, we must yield to each other and cooperate. Dear all! I pray that our church will become a church where all the institutions work well and share the work.
<
?? encourage
<
< Consider encouragement as a principle of church service. There are many times when it is difficult to do church work. Work can be hard, but it's even harder when you're criticized. Do you get paid while working in the church? Do you have worldly honor? Donate and take your time. How would you say that even though you worked so hard, you were criticized rather than sounding good? Nehemiah wrote down the names of those who worked hard to build the city. It was written in the meaning of "Everyone! You did a great job. I didn't do it. You did it." These words must have been a source of encouragement and comfort to those who worked hard. In particular, in verse 20, ?쏛fter that, Baruch the son of Sabbai worked hard to repair a part, and he came from the corner of the city to the gate of the house of Eliashib the high priest.??<
<
Dear all! This morning, I thought about three principles of church service. We pray that our church will become such a church that cooperates, shares, and encourages each other. So, I pray that you will become a church that honors the mission the Lord has entrusted to you, and that you will be praised for doing well on the day the Lord comes.
