Title: Priority of Jesus / Luke 21:34-38
Content: Priority of Jesus / Luke 21:34-38
Key Verse: “Therefore, watch and pray always, that ye may be able to escape all these things that are to come, and to stand before the Son of Man” (verse 36).
Word: How did you start your life for the year? To build a house, you must first design it well in order to build a good house. In order for our life to be a precious year in our life, we must design it right. Please start our life design with a prayer so that it will be a year in which we can live by the power of God while seeking God's will and wisdom.
Prayer is a guide in life and a faithful adviser. Prayer is a treasure trove of wisdom and a way to receive inspiration from God. Prayer is our comfort and hope. God disciplines and trains those who love him more. So, what should we do when we are in trouble? Psalm 50:15 says, “Call on me in the day of trouble, and I will deliver you, and you will glorify me.” The more difficult it is, the more we should seek God and pray.
If we look at the life of Jesus, he always prayed before important or great things. He never taught his disciples how to preach or how to worship. However, he specifically taught how to pray and gave many lessons and parables about prayer.
In the book of Revelation, the resurrected Lord rebuked the church in Sardis, saying, “He has a name of being alive, but he is dead.” Why did you receive such reproof? It was because the heat of prayer had cooled. Prayer is a conversation with our Heavenly Father. The prayer that God is most pleased with is the child's repentance of his own shortcomings and mistakes, and he realizes and appreciates his father's love, and when he tries hard to do it, he asks his father for help when it is no longer possible. Proverbs 16:9 says, “A man plans his way in his heart, but the Lord directs his steps.”
As you start the new year, you must have made many good plans. Not all of our plans are fulfilled. When Almighty God is with you in your plans, God's wisdom and power will help you. Also, prayer should be an oath of action. Prayer without action and action is like a bankrupt check. To pray fluently in words without deeds is rather a sin of mocking God.
As you walk into the new year, what kind of vows are you making? May you have a new devotion and resolution to God. Please start praying again this year, thinking that everything starts with prayer. Spend the first hour of the day in early morning prayer, all-night prayer, and fasting prayer. Pray as you cry out. Please ask for intercession in difficult times. Pray knowing that when we are in trouble, the Lord is sending us a message to pray. The Lord will be with you. I hope that this year will start with prayer by entrusting all your plans to the Lord.
Prayer: Entrust all your plans to the Lord, and let me live each day in prayer. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
