Title: Sure Prophecy
Text: 2 Peter 1:19-21
In the Christian world, today is called Bible Sunday. For us, the main proposition of the only religion is the Bible and the Word of the living God. Therefore, you should not distance yourself from the Bible, and if you live your life as a milestone, you will meet God there. If you look for the right teachings of the Bible on Bible Sunday,
1. The Great Presupposition of Prophecy
(1) Great and majestic 19th- “We have a more certain prophecy-” The “more certain prophecy” of Han Chinese refers to the words of prophecy recorded in the Bible as documented. On the Mount of Transfiguration (Matthew 17:14-, Mark 9:2-, Luke 9:38-), the three disciples saw and heard Jesus' transformation and the voice of heaven. that is. The focus of the prophecies recorded in the Old Testament is the coming of Christ for the salvation of mankind, and this prophecy is the inerrant word of God that cannot be altered or modified at all. For that reason, it is great and lofty, and there can be no logic or logic in which the saints depart from the Bible, and the “premise” has the same start and result, so only the Bible is possible.
(2) Suggestion of good direction - “It is like a lamp in darkness-” This means the mission or role of prophecy. “Darkness” does not simply mean a dark place, it is a dirty and gloomy place, that is, it is a sinful place. and points to the world and life in a sad tragedy. The dark place in the Bible is the place of ignorance, unbelief (John 3:19), unhappiness (Isaiah 8:22), and sin (John 1:5). Above all, it is darkness for the saints to fall into the world and forget the second coming of Christ and the kingdom of heaven, but the Bible, the prophecy, clearly shows the direction. Therefore, the Bible must be read, heard, and blessed when it is kept (Rev 1:3). You must see and believe in the good direction clearly, and follow it diligently.
(3) Realizing the truth 19b-. “Until day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts...” It refers to the receding of darkness and the brightening of the day. It is of no use when the lamp is lit only at night, and when the day breaks and full light comes. The text is that when the saints look at the prophecies of the Old Testament with faith, they understand the reason, and they can know that those prophecies are fulfilled through the gospel movement of Christ, and ultimately, they come to understand the Second Coming. And because the prophecies of the Old Testament are not fully fulfilled until the Second Coming of Christ, we must “be careful”.
2. Interpreter of Prophecy 20-21
(1) Arbitrary interpretation is not allowed 20-. “...All prophecies in the scriptures are not for one's own interpretation.” The original Bible was written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit as in verse 21, so human-centered interpretation is absolutely not allowed. “Privately solve” is to interpret the Bible according to one’s own opinion using human wisdom or science, and it is completely unacceptable. If we forcefully unravel the Bible with human thoughts, knowledge, and self-control, we will be destroyed (2 Peter 3:16). This is where worldism, mysticism, and liberation theology of new theology come from. Interpretation of the Bible must be moved and guided by the Holy Spirit, and the problem is that there are many errors in spiritual interpretation, so we must be careful.
(2) We must solve it with the truth 21-. “The prophecy….. men moved by the Holy Spirit received it from God…” The “prophecy” at the outset strongly suggests that, because it was not made by human will, it should not be interpreted by human will. . The Bible was written by humans, but not the words of humans, but God moved the writer's heart and wrote it using the knowledge, style, characteristics, and background of the person at the time. is.
Therefore, it is said that these words make perfect education and perfecting the man of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Therefore, these words lived (Hebrews 4:12) and were built up (Acts 20:32), so they are the words of life (Philippians 2:16).
(Conclusion) The text revealed the authority and duties of prophecy, and called attention to it. From verse 12, the fact of change is mentioned, and here, the prophecy that has become certain about that fact is confirmed. It is as the Bible prophesied that Christ, the protagonist of that change, is the protagonist of all prophecies.
