Introduction
In the New Testament era, the work of the Holy Spirit appears strongly. The work of the Holy Spirit is to first make us believe in Jesus (1 Corinthians 12:3), and to spread the Jesus we believe in to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). This is the work of the powerful power of the Holy Spirit.
What will happen to us when the power of the Holy Spirit comes upon us?
1. Justification takes place (verse 3).
“On the day the king went out to battle with his army on the holy mountain,”
When the Holy Spirit of the Lord works strongly, the work of justification of sinners takes place. Jesus Christ said, "Jesus answered and said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you... Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. What is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel at the words that you must” (John 3:3-7).
2. You will have a heart to dedicate yourself joyfully (verse 3).
“The king’s people rejoice in devotion,”
When you gain justification, have the assurance of salvation, and have the fervent experience of the Holy Spirit, you will have the heart to dedicate yourself joyfully. The psalmist said, "Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and grant me a willing spirit to sustain me, and I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will return to You" (Psalm 51:12-13). If anyone has the assurance of salvation, he will have a heart to dedicate himself to the God who has saved him. This is the evidence that the power of the Holy Spirit works strongly.
3. I have a heart to live a life of faith. (Verse 3)
“As the morning dew forms at dawn, young people will flock to you.”
This means that believers who are filled with the Holy Spirit are energetic and can continue to live their religious life like an eagle flying in the sky, tireless. The author of Isaiah says, “Have you not known or have you not heard? The eternal God, the LORD, who created the ends of the earth, does not grow weary, he does not grow weary, he knows no bounds in understanding; he gives strength to the weary and gives strength to the weak. “Even young men will be weary and weary, and young men will stumble and fall, but those who wait on the Lord will find new strength, and they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary, they will walk and not get weary” (Isaiah 40:28-) 31). This is only possible when the work of the power of the Holy Spirit is manifested.
conclusion
When we put on the power of the Lord, we can become righteous, dedicated, and live a life of faith with zeal. Therefore, we must be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).
