Who can enjoy complete peace even if the world has two sides? Who gives such perfect peace? There is only one God. As the Bible shows here and there, the peace that God gives is different from the peace the world gives. God gives true peace, not temporary peace.
Now, what must we do to enjoy the highest peace, true and perfect peace?
1. We must depend on God (verse 1).
Peace comes when you trust in the Lord.
(Philippians 2:5), "Have this mind, which was also in Christ Jesus." In other words, the kind of heart that Jesus had was always living with God in his heart. In all the activities of Jesus, God always stayed. His intentions, his plans, his wishes, his thoughts, and so on, the will of God was first considered, applied, and quoted first. Even right before his death, it was Jesus who prayed, “Not my will, but your will.” Because he had such a wick, God always stayed with him. God couldn't leave him. If you also have this kind of wick, God will always be by your side and will give you more peace of peace.
2. Let God stay in your daily life (verse 8).
When God stays with us, peace comes.
Peace comes when I do not try to solve problems on my own, but entrust everything to the God who dwells within me. Confidence comes through prayer. When I know that God is with me, I feel at peace. Even if the things around me are tangled like a thread, I have no worries because God is with me and knows all these things. Even though there is a commotion outside of me, peace springs up from the depths of my heart. Those who have experienced this peace always strive to pray. Those who have experienced the peace of prayer do not stop praying. I do not struggle to solve problems, but I entrust everything to God while praying to the God who dwells within me, so I continue to lead a life of peace. God hears your prayer and puts peace in your heart. And he solves the problems one by one.
3. Trust in God (verse 12).
Trust is expectation. God is truly the One you can lean on and rely on. If you lean on him, he catches you. It protects you. Holds it.
This means that if you say you believe in God and believe in Jesus Christ, but you do not have peace in your heart, you are wrong. A person who confidently confesses "I believe" can say "I am at peace" at the same time. Therefore, those who still do not have peace are those who do not have faith or lack much faith. It is evidence that you rely only on yourself and do not believe in God.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all circumstances give your credit to him, and he will direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
He told me not to believe in myself. I told you not to become a person who loses peace by relying on my wisdom and my counsel. If we only trust in God, He will guide our way. That path is the path of peace. We learn from the words of Proverbs that a successful life has nothing to do with worldly success.
A successful life is one who is led from peace to peace. God has chosen us not to achieve success in the worldly sense, but to live a life of peace. A truly successful life is one living without worries, worries, and fears. You must live while enjoying the peace that God gives you and the peace that the world gives you and other true peace. Absolutely depend on God, trust, and go out. Then you will live a life that leads from peace to peace.
