In today's text, David asks, "Put my tears in your skinskins" (verse 8). What kind of tears did David shed, and why did he ask to put his tears in your skinskins? Today, I would like to share the precious grace of the Lord through this psalm.
When David realized that his life was in danger, he first cried out to God for help and mercy (verse 1).
David is showing his faith to trust God even more strongly when he realizes that his life is in danger.
What is belief? What does it mean to have great faith? People of faith do not despair even in hardships and adversity, but look to God who helps. Even when the waves of despair come upon us, people of faith live by looking to the God of hope. Trusting in the Lord, who is light and power, is believing, even though it may seem like a dark night with no hope of solving it on our own. A person of faith looks to God no matter what happens, entrusts it to God, and seeks God.
David's faith relied on God not only in his victory over Goliath, but also in the persecution of King Saul. David said in verse 3, "Even in the days when fear engulfs me, I rather trust in the Lord." Let us rely more on the Lord when we are frustrated and anxious, when frustration and failure take over our lives.
Second, I confessed that I am a God who helps me (verse 9).
David was convinced that God was always on his side. David believed that if he would cry out to God and ask for his help, all his enemies would have to retreat. Because he was convinced that God was on his side.
We must believe the Bible not as knowledge but as a profession of faith, and we must experience, meet, and know God and Jesus through our lives, not with our heads. Among those who have been in the church for a long time, there are those who know a lot about the Bible, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, but have not met Jesus and have not experienced the Holy Spirit. It must be a faith that confesses and affirms that God is my help and shield and weapon. David is a man who knows God experientially. David was a man who clearly knew and experienced God as the good shepherd who controls and guides his life.
Third, thanksgiving to the God of salvation (verse 12).
