The text describes the relationship between Saul and David. The meeting between these two was truly an unfortunate one. So there was always conflict, discord, hatred and hatred between these two people. David and Saul have a static relationship. Saul, who was the king at the time, was always interested in David, who had the power of the people. So Saul always had to be conscious of David, and in the end he considered him static and tried to get rid of David. And whenever he had time, he sent David out to the battlefield to put him in danger and die. Then David risked his life to go to the battlefield and came back victorious every time. Regardless of Saul's intentions, David received more love from the people.

Each time Saul ignited the hatred that arose within him, so he threatened David several times. Finally, he tried to kill David by throwing a javelin at him. At that time, David barely escapes and flees to his home. At that time, Saul sent an army to besiege David's house, and when the soldiers entered the house to arrest him, David's wife, Saul's daughter, told him to return because David was lying in bed. When Saul heard the news, he sent the soldiers again and commanded them to bring the bed where David was lying. So when I went to David's house again, David had already fled. So David safely saves his life. The prayer I wrote with an urgent heart after such an incident was Psalm 59 that we read today. Here, David shows what the life of a person who has been favored by God is like.

(Verses 1-4) are ‘prayer with pleading content’.

“My God, deliver me from my enemies, and keep me from those who rise up against me. Deliver me from evil-doers, and deliver me from bloodthirsty men. They are ambush for my life. The strong are gathering against me. But, Lord, I am not guilty, nor am I guilty of any great sin. There's nothing wrong with me, but they run and prepare to fight. Wake up and watch, help me.” How urgent and desperate is this prayer?

And if you look at (verses 16-17), it is a prayer in which David believes and asks for his victory.

“But I will praise the Lord, who is my strength. Every morning I sing of Your unfailing love, for You are my fortress and my refuge in times of calamity. Lord my strength, I will praise you. “God is a fortress I will take refuge in, who loves me unconditionally.” It is a confession of “I believe only in the Lord.”

This is the essence of the life of faith. The deep truth is always hidden. The strong don't always win. The person being chased is not always the weak. So God made Saul tilt like the old moon and David multiplies like the full moon. So David confesses. “You are my fortress, my rock, and my Lord.”

We must always believe that God is with us with an invisible hand behind our back. That life is a life of faith. That is the life we live with the grace of God. There is prosperity and a life of guidance. That life is the life of God's promise to us.
