Sermon text I 1 Timothy 3:1-7 It's faithful This is the saying, when a person seeks the office of a bishop, he longs for a good deed.
Therefore, the overseer is blameless, a husband of one wife, temperate, sober, modest, and hospitable to strangers.

He must rule his own house well, bringing his children into subjection with all modesty.
(If a man does not know how to rule his own house, how can he take care of the church of God?)
Not even newcomers to the church, least they become arrogant and fall into the same condemnation that condemns the devil.
You must also be a person who has obtained a good testimony from an outsider, so be afraid that you will fall into slander and the devil's snare.

Continuing from last week, I testify of the word about the bishop, an official of the church.
The text speaks of ethical and spiritual qualifications for supervision.
A bishop has the same office as an elder.
The elders strictly present their qualifications as adults in the church.

You must become a believer.
To obtain the position of director
First, we must long for good works.
Second, there must be no reproach.
Third, you must be the husband of one wife.
Fourth, we must be temperate.
Fifth, you must be sober.
Sixth, you must be humble.
Seventh, we must treat strangers well.
For salvation, we must strive for spiritual and physical salvation.
Eighth, you must be good at teaching.
We must teach them to understand God, the truth, and the doctrine of salvation through the Bible.
Ninth, you should not enjoy alcohol.
A person entrusted with the good work of God must not get drunk.
Tenth, you must not be beaten.
There must be no verbal or hand beating. We must overcome evil with good.
Eleventh, be tolerant.
You need to understand, accept, and accept others.
Twelfth, we must not argue.
We must pray and wait patiently without fighting against each other.
Thirteenth, you must not love money.
The love of money should not place it higher than the truth and God.
Fourteenth, you must take good care of your house.
First, you must become a well-groomed person and take good care of your house, and then you must rule the church.
