Race of Grace and Glory

Romans 5:1-11

Daegu World Athletics Championships The course run in a marathon is called a race. The life of a saint is also a race. The race of saints is a race that begins with grace and ends with glory.

First, we have peace with God through faith in Christ.

The Bible says we are saved through faith. Romans 5 shows the fruits and consequences of our lives. “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).

What have the results of faith brought to us? The first is peace with God. In the past, we were “enemies” with God because of sin. If it were not for the enemy, there is no need to enjoy peace. But how did we come to peace?

Look at verse 10! For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

However, the reconciliation between God and man was achieved through the death of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, to wash away our sins. Jesus died as a reconciler.

“Gentlemen, God loved us. That is why he gave his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as the “child of reconciliation.” Through this Child of Reconciliation, Jesus Christ, we are now reconciled to God.”

Peace is not something you get. When the relationship is restored, there is peace. Especially when the relationship between the person you love is bad, you feel uncomfortable. When a child leaves the house, no matter how rich or how rich they are, their heart is not at peace. When a couple fights and reconciles and eats rice, the taste of rice returns. There is no peace for those who depart from God. Peace does not come from possessing something, but from the restoration of a relationship.

What does being reconciled to God mean in our lives? See verse 2!

“And through him we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”

The second blessing that the results of faith bring us is that we have the privilege of daring to approach God through Jesus Christ. We have come to the place of grace by faith, and now we can see the glory of God.

Do you remember singer Yoo Seung-jun? It is said that Yoo Seung-jun's father shed tears. He couldn't give up his US permanent residency because he didn't want to send his children to the military. Permanent residency was so important. We Christians get the permanent residence in heaven through faith. It is said that the World Cup VIP seats are worth hundreds of millions of dollars. If you buy it with money, that's a huge amount. But we enter heaven by faith. It is through pure faith that you enter the place of grace.

“And through him we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God” (5:2).

Here comes the ultimate purpose of the Christian life. What is the purpose of your life? Have you found your purpose in life? Making money cannot be the goal. Being rich is not an end either. If you can't answer why you live, you can't answer how you should live either.

“Living for the glory of God” is the purpose of our life. “To have fun” is a way of living life. Without God, the purpose of life is usually to be rich and prosperous. People with a higher goal are to serve humanity, care for the underprivileged, donate to society, donate organs and commit to the peace of mankind. It's a thin and noble life. But it is meaningless if God is missing from such actions. Because he is free to do so for his own righteousness and his own glory.

But those who live for the glory of God are different. Students who work part-time to earn tuition also save on lunch. isolate But what about those who live for the glory of God? I give my talents, gifts, money, and time to God. We dedicate ourselves to the glory of God, go to the mission field, and don't eat or drink, and donate for the work that pleases God.

Second, we wait for the day of glory as we go through the tunnel of suffering and maturity (Romans 5:3,4).

See verses 3 and 4! But not only this, but we also rejoice in tribulation, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance, perseverance produces character, and character produces hope.

The race of the Christian life is a life that begins with grace and ends with glory. However, there is a difficult course to pass between grace and glory. That is what tribulation is. This tribulation begets patience, patience produces refinement, and refinement gives us hope. But this hope does not disappoint us. It is because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit that God has given us.

I thought that if I believed in Jesus, everything would be solved and the problem of suffering would be solved, but the problems do not stop. Paul said, “Not only that, but we also rejoice in our tribulation, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance, perseverance, character, and character, hope.”

I wait patiently even if it's hard because I take a day off on a Saturday at work. Because there is the glory of the week, we wait in hope. Even the military waits for the honor of being discharged.

God's purpose in human suffering and the reason we overcome tribulation is because we believe in the hope of God's glory. Even in the midst of difficulties, he does not hide it, but rather brags about it. Why? For the benefit of suffering is to bring perseverance (long-suffering, enduring patience). He is proud of his tribulation because of Christ. Tribulation is to drive you into the brink of death. However, they are not discouraged by the glory of God, but rather boast of His grace.

Through perseverance, the believer's character becomes Christ-like. Tribulation requires patience. Patience brings refinement. The podium can be said to be an experience. It is religious maturity. It is a sacred realm. Personality is a living experience acquired through perseverance. Through the podium, we become valuable and weighty people. Such experiences bring hope. Hope grows stronger in tribulation.

Why do you give tribulation? It is to root out the habits and sinful nature of living in a sinful world and prepare them as citizens of the kingdom of God. Those who do not know why I have to go through tribulation when they are in tribulation have such a hard time seeing the glory. Many temptations attract us during the race. I feel the temptation to give up. God's plan is to prepare the people of God's kingdom by changing the nature of slavery.

Third, we do not give up hope because of God's love for us (5-8)

See 5-8! Hope does not put us to shame, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us (5).

What hopes do you have? Hope requires some energy. For a wish to be possible, there must be something. That is the love of God. “Hope does not put us to shame, because the love of God has been poured out on us through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” As God's love is poured out on us, we experience God's love. God pours out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.

Even if we live with hope, we sometimes lose hope and become discouraged when hardships and difficulties continue to strike us. That is why they drift away from the path of faith. We would be happy without this, and we would be happy without that. When you need clothes, you buy them, and you want to own what you want. But it is not filled. The strength to withstand it is not in material possessions or circumstances. God's love must be poured out. If you love, you endure everything. God pours out the hope of glory on us through the Holy Spirit, and God pours out His love overflowingly. It is made possible because of God's pouring love, not his own will. See 6-8! As promised, while we were still weak, Christ died for the ungodly.(6) It is not easy for someone to die for the righteous, and some will dare to die for a good man.(7) While we were still sinners, Christ saved us. God demonstrates his love for us by dying for us (8).

What kind of love is God's love? It is the love that died for us when we were powerless. Who can die for the powerless?

Between lovers, they want to satisfy each other's needs. When a lover is sick, the heart hurts together. The love that parents give to their children increases. But no matter how much love or parenthood, no life can be substituted for them. If it is a love that gives life, it is truly amazing love.

God's love is a love that dies for sinners. It is love that does not die for the good, but for the righteous, but for the sinner. God clearly demonstrated his love through his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ demonstrated His love by shedding His blood. See verse 8! God demonstrates his love for us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (8).

Salvation is that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. It is important to say that you bleed. Look at Hymn 186!

“The blood of my lord is pure and pure. The Lord who purifies my sins, call me to come. I am coming to you now; cleanse me by the blood of Golgotha.”

God loved me and loved me with the love of the cross. That love leads us to hope for that day. It is that love that gives us the strength to endure in the midst of all difficulties and hardships. God's love is the energy that allows us to endure and endure and finally win in the midst of any tribulation and persecution. Without that love, we cannot endure suffering. We must experience God's love. You must experience that love. May God pour out His love on us through the Holy Spirit.

conclusion

What leads us to victory in life from the beginning of grace to the day we behold the glory of God? It is God's love. If you experience this love, you will endure any difficulties. Because they don't feel this love, they try and fall in the middle. Only those who realize and know the love that God sent the Son of God can decorate a long and difficult life with victory. May God's love be poured out in our hearts. Pray for that love to pour out. let me experience that love
