Life is often compared to a long-distance race like a marathon. Because you have to run for a long time, many distances, and fight with fatigue and external challenges. That's why John Bunyan said, "Christians are pilgrims to heaven." There is only one reason to play. Players don't play for goodwill, not for health, or for satisfaction. The reason for the game is to win. So how can you run the race to victory? Let's take a look at the requirements to remember in order to build a life of faith.
First, we must cast off our heavy burdens to win the race of faith.
Second, we can win the race of faith only when we get rid of things that are easily entangled.
To be tangled means fluttering clothes. If a racer runs in fluttering clothes, he cannot run properly. So, in ancient Greece, it is said that the game was played naked. This is because when you run in fluttering clothes, you fall when the clothes are wrapped around your body. From a religious point of view, to be entangled means to cling to our body and constantly follow us, a bad habit or attitude. The appearance of sin always leads to depraved behavior and bad habits. Because those bad habits and attitudes bind us, we are not able to run the race of faith and waste our lives and time in the wrong places. There are always those who fall into the trap and fall into temptation because of the habit of clinging to something, vanity, and arrogance. Romans 13:14 “Paul said, “Put on the Lord Jesus Christ alone, and do not succumb to the lusts of the flesh”. If we do not put on the clothes of the righteousness of Jesus Christ, the old natures of the flesh will constantly arise within us, tormenting us and tormenting us.
Third, if you have overcome heavy burdens and things that are easy to get caught up in, you must race with patience to win the race of faith.
