Title: Reasons to Give Thanks to God
Contents
[Psalm 100:1-5]
There is a saying in our proverb, “I rescued someone from drowning, and they told me to put out my bag.” On the other hand, there is a saying, 'A dark-headed beast knows no one else's' or 'Do not raise a black-headed animal. All of these words refer to people who do not know grace.
A person is referred to as a 'black-headed beast', so I think from the point of view of the person speaking it, if he sees an ungrateful person and is hurt, he sees a man and calls him a beast. In fact, given that there are many stories of beasts who have repaid grace in the old stories that have been passed down, it would not be an exaggeration to say that people who do not know grace are inferior to animals.
There are many words to ‘give thanks to God’ in the Bible, and there are also many reasons why we should give thanks to God. As we well know, 'rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus' (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18). I bless you by name.
Because God made us
There are many reasons to give thanks to God, but the first reason to give thanks is because God created us. Plato once said, "The greatest reason I thank God is that I was not born as an animal, but as a man."
If so, will the beasts live only with complaints against God who made them beasts? The Bible tells us that all things give thanks and praise to God for ever and ever (Rev. 5:13).
In fact, the person who complains the most among all things is probably man.
Saints! Those who do not know God do this because they do not know Him, but we who know God, I hope that we will always give thanks to God the Almighty Creator. David said in Psalm 139:14, “I give thanks to the Lord, because he created me.” Please give thanks to God for not making me a beast, but for making me a mysterious man.
Because God is our Father
The condition that we were created as human beings is enough reason to thank God, but the fact that believers in Jesus Christ have become children of God is a reason to be even more grateful.
For example, if a man bought a sold slave and adopted him as his son, how would that slave feel, and how would that prisoner feel if the king saved a prisoner who was sentenced to death for a felony and made him his son? Saints! What kind of people were you before God?
He saved us who had no choice but to die for our sins, we who were servants of the devil and enemies of God, and us who will be destroyed in hell where brimstone fire burns forever, and made them children of God. Who is the God who made us children? Therefore, a life that does not know God is unhappy.
The more we know God, the more we can not help but be thankful and glorify Him. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for making me a child.
Because what God has done is great and wonderful.
Everyone knows that humans are specially created beings that are different from other creatures, but what we can appreciate the most is the fact that they have thoughts. Gratitude comes from thoughts.
Therefore, everyone who thinks about what a good God, a loving God, has done for a sinner like me, cannot help but be thankful.
Saints! You are all the great and wonderful things that God has done, God who did not spare even his only begotten Son, sacrificed himself to save a sinner like me, saved me and made me a child, protected me like the apple of the eye while living on this earth, blessed me in everything, and is with you. God who loves me with natural and special graces (working of the Holy Spirit), when we think of the great and wonderful things God has done through faith, our gratitude is not enough.
