Title: Rebuild the Temple

Contents Rebuild the temple (Haggai 1:3-6)

Israel was divided into northern Israel and southern Judah at the time of Rehoboam, and the northern Israel was destroyed by Assyria in 722 BC and the southern Judah by Babylon in 598 BC. Why was Israel divided and destroyed? Both nations have turned away from God and have fallen into idolatry. If the nation was destroyed and the Jews who were taken captive in Babylon had one dream, they would one day return to Judah and go up to the temple to worship. So they repented of not serving God alone, looked at the Jerusalem temple every day and prayed three times. After 70 years passed, God gave them grace, freed them from captivity, and allowed them to return to their homeland. And upon returning from liberation, the first thing the Jews did was to build the destroyed temple (Ezra 3:1-13).

At this time, God came to Haggai, rebuked the people of Judah, and encouraged them to restart the temple construction that had been stopped in order to give them true blessing (verses 2-9). Then, what did God do through the prophet Haggai? do you speak   First, you are told to look at what you have done (verses 5, 7). It is to take an honest look at yourself.   Second, go up the mountain, take wood, and build the temple. (Verse 8) It doesn't have to be as grandiose as Solomon built.

Hearing Haggai's words, the people of Judah now stand up boldly and begin rebuilding the temple. Now, instead of listening to the opposers to see the circumstances, circumstances and conditions, they heard the voice of God through the prophet and were moved to begin rebuilding the temple (v. 12). They were not afraid of Samaritan sabotage and Persian political intimidation. He did not take issue with economic depression and difficulties. How did you change like this? This is because God moved the hearts of all the people (verse 14). Through the word of God, the heart was awakened and the spiritually darkened heart was broken. Our church is now celebrating its 100th anniversary and has begun remodeling the temple. We hope that we will be filled with such emotion, emotion, joy and the Holy Spirit. (The story of Elder Gyu-man during the construction of Seohyeon Church in Daegu) Also, rebuilding the temple does not mean only the church building. Our body is the temple. With the rebuilding of the church, we hope that our faith will also be renewed.

When Jehovah's voice came to Haggai, God gave him seven promises in relation to the rebuilding of the temple (Chapter 2). Second, I will fill this temple you built with a glory greater than the previous glory. Third, the silver is mine, and the gold is mine too, so I will fill it up as needed. Fourth, I will provide everything necessary for the house of Jehovah. Fifth, from this day on, I will bless you. Sixth, the foreign enemies who tormented you will be destroyed before you. Seventh, no one will harm you, and I will exalt you above all nations. Rebuild the temple and bless you with these blessings.
