Title: Receive with Faith

Contents

Chapter 115 I'm Happy

When you do evangelism, unexpectedly many people meet people who have attended church in the past. But now he says he knows the church. The reason you know is simple. I went to church but did not meet Jesus, because I could not be born again by the Word and the Holy Spirit, because I had no assurance of salvation, because it was difficult to live by faith, because I did not believe in Heaven and Hell, because I liked the world so much, and because it was more important to live. ... So now he said he knew.

How did the people of faith live with these dropouts? Also, today's text teaches us how far more people who believe in Jesus should trust and believe in Jesus. What kind of faith did Rahab the prostitute receive God's spies? In other words, accepting a spy means receiving the God who sent the spy. Then, what blessings did you receive when you accepted God?

1) Become a child of God.

2:8 Before they were lying down, Rahab went up to the roof and came to them.

Joshua 2:9 He said, "I know that the LORD has given you this land. We are very afraid of you, and all the people of this land melt away before you.

Joshua 2:10 For we have heard that the LORD dried up the waters of the Red Sea before you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites beyond the Jordan, to destroy them.

Joshua 2:11 As soon as we heard it, our hearts melted, and people lost their minds because of you. The LORD your God is God of heaven and earth.

Rahab confesses that she is the God of heaven and earth (the God of heaven, the God of the earth, the God where there is no God). I knew that there was no army that could defeat God.

I knew that if I did not stand on the side of God, I could not be saved. So they welcomed Israeli spies in peace. hid it Is there any way to overcome God?

Is there any way to defeat God's army? none. there is absolutely no So, what should I do?

It is only when I turn to God's side. I will become God's people. Jesus also said this.

John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world did not know him.

John 1:11 When he came to his own land, his people did not receive him.

John 1:12 To all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-

John 13:20 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever receives the one I sent receives me, and the one who receives me receives the one who sent me.

So, the writer of Hebrews introduces the faith of Rahab the prostitute like this.

Hebrews 11:31 By faith Rahab the prostitute received the spies in peace, so that she did not perish with the disobedient.

So Rahab safely welcomed the spies who had sent the God of Heaven and Earth. accepted by faith.

We accepted Jesus and became children of God. The first step to believing in Jesus is to accept Him. to meet Jesus. Admit this belief every day.

Romans 10:9 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:10 With the heart a man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

To accept Jesus is to follow the cross. The cross is my death. To die is to risk your life to God.

2) Children risk their lives

In fact, helping the people of Israel, the enemy of Jericho at that time, is a miraculous act. To hide a spy is an act of betrayal of one's country. It is an act of risking your own life. However, she takes the risk and hides and escapes from Israeli spies.

When a North Korean defector returns to South Korea, the remaining family members in the North go to prison. being abused by forced labor.

It is a natural fact that the life of a family is at risk. Nevertheless, Rahab risked her life to hide Israel's spies. welcomed peacefully. Why? Because I have to risk my life for my family to live and for me.

Joshua 2:1 Joshua son of Nun sent two men secretly from Siddim on spying, and said to them, "Go and inspect the land and Jericho." So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab, and lodged there

Joshua 2:2 And it was told the king of Jericho, saying, Behold, some of the children of Israel have come this night to spy out the land.

Joshua 2:3 The king of Jericho sent a message to Rahab, saying, Come to thee and bring out those who have entered your house, for they have come to spy out all the land.

The Jericho soldiers knew that the spies had already infiltrated and pursued even the prostitute Rahab. But he knew that the city would be destroyed by the providence of God. So he risked his life. He risked his life to hide the spy. This is faith. When I risk my life for Jesus, I live and my family lives.

Acts 16:31 He said, Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you and your household will be saved.

Receiving Jesus is the determination not to deny the Lord until the end, no matter what dangers come to pass while believing in Jesus. Just as Jesus died for my sins, I must be determined to give my life for Jesus. that's welcome

3) Children who risk their lives will be saved.

1) Fall of Jericho

Jos 6:20 Then the people shouted, and the priests blew the trumpets, and at the same time the people heard the sound of the trumpets, they shouted with a loud voice, and the wall fell down, and the people went forward, every man, and went into the city, and took the city.

Jos 6:21 And he destroyed everything that was in the city, the old men and women, the cattle and the asses with the edge of the sword

Jos 6:23 The spies went in and brought out Rahab and her parents and her brothers and all that belonged to her, and all her relatives, and they left them outside the camp of Israel.

Jos 6:24 And they burned the city and everything in it with fire, and the silver, gold, and copper and iron utensils were left in the treasury of the house of the LORD.

Joshua 6:25 Joshua saved Rahab the harlot, her father's family, and all that belonged to her, and she dwelt in Israel to this day, because she hid the messenger Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

The result of not accepting God is destruction and death.

As a result of risking his life to accept God, he and his family were saved. But all those who did not obey were utterly destroyed by the edge of the sword.

Hebrews 11:31 By faith Rahab the prostitute received the spies in peace, so that she did not perish with the disobedient.

Matthew 10:14 If anyone does not receive you or listen to you, let him go out of that house or city and shake the dust from your feet.

Matthew 10:15 I tell you the truth, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah on the day of judgment than for it.

You will be judged eternally in eternal hell.

Although Rahab was a lowly and ugly gisaeng, she accepted God's spy. In other words, they accepted the God who sent the spy. As a result, they were saved and became the people of God. He also became the father of Jesus.

Mat 1:5 Salmon fathered Boaz by Rahab, Boaz fathered Obed by Ruth, Obed fathered Jesse,

Even if it is a humble life, an ugly life, or a life that is bound to be destroyed, if you believe and accept Jesus, you will be saved.

And it is elevated to the status of becoming a child of Jesus. If you believe in Jesus, you will be forgiven for any wrongdoings of the past. You don't ask me if I'm a whore I pray in the name of Jesus that you and your family will be saved by believing in Jesus (*)
