Title: Refresh Your Eyes
What is content viewing? To see is the most advanced of all experiences we have. Because the experience of seeing precedes the experience of touching. The Hebrews call the eye ‘ain’. This word also means ‘to see’, but it also means ‘fountain’ or ‘source’. To see is to be the fountain and source of thoughts and all experiences, and of wisdom. How much you see and how you see determines a person's destiny.
So Son Moon (孫文 / Sam Min-ju) divided life into three categories. 'Foreign and forerunner' - some who know first and act;不覺者 (不覺者) - A person who does not know before and does not know after experiencing.
In today's text, Jesus speaks. “The eyes are the lamp of the body…” It means that the eyes must be bright. Seeing brightly, understanding brightly, and thinking brightly. It speaks of the natural truth of seeing in darkness when it is dark. According to psychologist Iris Cully, the hallmark of modern people is ‘people without peace’. Why is there no peace? The first is anxiety. I'm worried because I can't see ahead. hate someone As long as you hate, your heart darkens. Hate, disappointment, resentment, worry... All these things make a person dark. Because their eyes were not opened, the disciples of Jesus did not recognize the Master and were trembling with anxiety, calling out to Jesus, “It is a ghost” (Matthew 14:22).
In the text, Jesus is referring to the bad eye. Darkened eyes. Wrong eyes. It is 'one poem' (偏視). I lose my balance and see only one side. You can see the trees but not the forest.
We see the wide world, but we do not see the craftsmanship of God's holy creation. We look at history, but we do not see the God who is in charge of history. These eyes darken the mind and the world. Now, what kind of eyes are my eyes? You have to see yourself. Another bad eye. It is ‘double vision’. Overlap, overlapping and overlapping. It means seeing with two minds. “No one can serve two masters,” says Jesus. You cannot serve both wealth and God. That is why He says, “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness” (Matthew 6:33).
Next, when Jesus “single hold” he refers to well-tuned, well-focused eyes. When it is out of focus, you cannot see it. Single focus - the focus must be clear. That way you can see it fully. “Let us look to Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2). We must look to Jesus, who is the light. No matter how clear your eyes are, you cannot see without light. Before the world can change, my eyes must change. The way to change is to look to the Lord. When your eyes are open, the world cannot be so beautiful.
Look at Jesus. "Look at the birds in the air", "Think how the lilies of the field grow." When you see Christ and see yourself, look at the cross with the eyes of saved faith, and see yourself and the world, you can see the new heavens and the new earth.
