Life is full of worries, worries, and anxieties. It's not just once or twice that I've been working on a job, and I'm not able to sleep and worry about what to do if something goes wrong. Looking at Joseph's life, there were many times when he faced a dark reality where he could not see an inch ahead. We can't even imagine the pain Joseph must have suffered so much. But today, let's listen to the voice of the Lord speaking to us in such a situation.
I. God is our refuge, strength, and great help.
God is my refuge, my strength, and my great help. Like a mother brown bear raising her paws and shouting to protect her cub from a leopard, God is my strength and great help. Even if the land falls into a state of dreadful chaos, even when storms rage and waves roar like crazy and shake the mountains, even if these unexpected and amazing things happen in our lives, fear and anxiety will eventually lead us to failure. Life cannot be over because God is my refuge, strength, and help.
Even if the cares, pains, and concerns that grip me were caused by my mistake, my trust in him, like Joseph, will rekindle me, and the God who will please me will give me the best. We believe it will be because the magnitude of God's protection and His love for me are far greater than those that bring us all our worries, anxieties and pains.
Ⅱ. We will come to know that God is God in the midst of anxiety and tribulation.
God is the Lord of hosts, who rules over everything in the world. Although the nations and princes of the world rely on their power to growl and have the authority to shake the nation, they melt when God calls out once. The power of God who rules the world is “the Lord God of hosts, who brings peace to the ends of the earth and gives peace to the ends of the earth.” Jehovah God of hosts is with us. He said, “You who are anxious and anxious and anxious that things will go wrong, be still and know that I am God. I will be glorified through you among the nations when I will rule over all your problems and you will rise above them.”
God wants to take control of our cares, anxieties, and pains, and He wants us to show Himself in our lives. We have many wishes and concerns and worries at the same time. The wish, “I wish it would be like this,” becomes anxiety and worry, and suddenly it turns into anger and frustration. And then he falls into anxiety again and falls into despair and resignation. We are staggering under the arrows of despair that Satan has unleashed incessantly. At that time, the voice of the Lord heard quietly for a moment, saying, “Be still and know that I am God.” We must never turn off the engine of our trust and faith in God. Because the Lord of hosts is with us. We must trust to the end that God will take control of our problems and reveal Himself by saying, “Know that I am your God.”
Many of the problems we now dwell on with our cares and worries are largely imposed by our own faults. We can call someone for help to solve this problem, or the anguish is so great that we want to run away. But in the end they do nothing to me. The very moment when we are suffering and we are struggling with worries and anxieties is the very moment God wants us to be. We will stand still and show that God is God through our deep trust in Him. When we remain silent and see God revealing that He is God, we will come to revival, we will come to hope, to success and happiness, and we will come to peace.
