Rejoice completely (Deuteronomy 16:14-15)

Today is a very good day. Because it's Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks more than ever in remembrance of the grace that God has bestowed upon us.

The same goes for today.

(14) When the feast is kept, you, your children, your slaves and your slaves, and the Levites and strangers, orphans, and widows who live in your city shall keep in touch with each other.

あああのああああああああああああああああんああああああんあああご

I drink and eat with the poor and weak widows, the orphans, and the Levites?

(15) In the place the LORD your God chooses, you shall keep a feast before the LORD your God for seven days, and you shall rejoice in all that the LORD your God will bless you in all your goods and in all that you put your hands on.

あああをしなければnaranai.ああてのあざざざを 祝福sarerukara de ある.ああびびびなびびびない.

To fully enjoy yourself means to completely loosen your belt and enjoy to your heart's content.

This is not only to be thankful for what we have already received from God, but also to be thankful in advance for what God will bless us.

This is today's topic.

Thanksgiving Day has two historical backgrounds.

One is the Feast of Ingathering (取り入レの祭Ri) in the Old Testament. In the Jewish country, field farming was mainly done. At the end of the year, there is a festival called the Feast of Ingathering.

(New Translation Exodus 23:16) You must observe the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year when you reap what you labored in your fields.

收穫祭を 收穫祭を 收穫祭を 收穫祭を 收穫祭を 收穫祭を

To keep this feast that God said to them, the Jewish people lived by building tents for 7 days to commemorate their ancestors living in the wilderness after the Exodus. That is why it is called the Feast of Tabernacles (取り入レの祭Ri, 收穫祭) and the Feast of Tabernacles (假庵の祭Ri).

The other is the historical background of Thanksgiving in the United States thanks to the Thanksgiving service offered by the Puritans. A strange thing happened in England in the mid-16th century. England is a Christian country, but Henry VIII issued a law with the purpose of leading the church as he pleases. Since then, friction has arisen between the church and the government. Yes, Christians are persecuted and persecuted, but many priests have been martyred. Puritans were more persecuted. These Puritans were no longer able to help, so they came to America to defend their faith.

When I arrived in America, it was winter.

Two hundred years ago, it would have been much colder than it is now. They spend the winter in the cold, and half of them die and only 50 survive because of hunger, endemic diseases, and attacks from wild beasts. When spring comes the next year, they plow the land, sow seeds, and start farming. Harvest in autumn. The Puritans made food from the first harvested grain, invited Indians to a feast, and gave thanks to God for protecting them from cold and disease. Today's Thanksgiving Day inherits this beautiful tradition.

People who have moved to South America in search of gold, blinded by material things, still live in poverty.

Those who immigrated to North America in search of religious freedom have become the best country in the world after 200 years by the grace of the Lord.

Our Lord blesses those who give thanks. Thank you for everything.

Looking at the historical background of this Thanksgiving, I feel that Thanksgiving is not a feast, but a day to confess the faith of the saints.

The Bible verses I mentioned earlier were given before farming.

When the Israelites left Egypt, crossed the Red Sea, and came to the wilderness of Sinai, God calls Moses.

God gave Moses the Ten Commandments and 613 commandments. God speaks of the Feast of Ingathering, when the people were at their worst in the wilderness, when they had no home, no country, and no food.

Now, you will enter Canaan, flowing with milk and honey, and when you enter that place, you are telling us in advance to remember that you lived in a tent in the wilderness and live a life of gratitude. Therefore, even though it is difficult and difficult right now, I have to offer it with faith in God who will lead me to the land of Canaan.

Half of the American continent died of freezing, sickness, and starvation, but our Lord entrusted them with all the authority of this earth to them, who were thankful for being able to praise and pray to their heart's content.

Dear saints,

Today is the opportunity to be praised by the Lord.--> Thank you.

Please confess that all of you are from God.--> The power of the Lord will come into your life.
