Title: Rejoice with Me (Philippians 2:12-18)
This text is from Paul's prison epistle. In prison, he writes to the Philippians, clinging to one constant theme. We want to share the joy that Paul experienced. to rejoice with me. what? are you sick? Did you lose your job? Are the children sick? Are you in jail? Yes. Paul says Verse 18 “In the same way, rejoice and rejoice with me.” This is the power. He rejoices with himself. He sent 450 cancer patients to the hospice in a book called 'Beautiful Goodbye'. talk about methodology. It's about breathing. That way, patients will face death in a comfortable way. They say go to church on the holidays. After playing hard, I just go to church. "The Bible? It comes out while looking for it. It comes out if you grumble while making an impression." So, who is going to come to church?
How, then, can we have joy? How could Paul have had joy? We need to know what our essence is. That way you know how to be happy. First, in verse 12, Paul says, “My beloved!” This changed Paul's life. Beloved! A college student came to me for advice. Girls say that they want to remove their eyes because they look so pretty. Basically, we are lovers. It is said that even just smelling the cosmetics makes my heart race. Because there are only male brothers.
In Genesis 1:27, we were born in the "image of God." What is the image of God? The answer is found in 1 John 4:7-8. "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God. For God is love. Ira"
This is the biggest challenge. Those who know God must love. There is joy when you love. Joy is on the inside and love is on the outside. Why can't we love? Because I know love. The problem is that we see love as a noun rather than a verb. It is said that there is an Eros Agape Ethutimian love in the love of a noun. I try to understand love logically. Did Jesus Lecture When He Loved? no. verb form. He gave food to the hungry and made the blind see. He forbade the use of knives during the captivity in Gethsemane. What does dying on the cross mean? It is an expression of love.
Jesus' life itself was an expression of love.
ok i understand let's love But even though we are in love, why can't we love? Because I'm labeling it. "Ah! He's a bad person. He's a ferocious person. That's right! He's stubborn!" Don't conclude who he is! Then it means you won't love. In the last sermon we talked about temperament, but fixing it is the opposite. If I attach a label like this, I feel comfortable and I don't have to put in any more effort. What does love mean? I'm not going to put a label on it. It's hard, but I'll try to understand. How proud are you? If I don't know myself, how can other people know? he is God These tickets are often sent to the people around them, husbands and wives. and define it Even if a couple fights, if one side shouts, "That human is like that!" ignore it One feels ignoring and screams even more. Then it will explode and scream. They are people you can truly love. Because God made it that way. Therefore, love is to get rid of the things you don't love.
If so, how can I get rid of it? In verse 12, Paul tells us to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, being more submissive, both in our presence and in our absence.
1. It is the word to obey first. What does it mean to obey? Submissive to others? actually listening. I go to hear the Word to gain faith. What does not believe mean? A person who decides something and refuses to listen. An obedient person is not only a listener, but in other words, a learner. Some of Jesus' disciples, even less, are traitors. because it doesn't listen. It's all dissatisfaction if you don't listen to the church and see it negatively.
2. What do you say to do after this submission? “Work out your own salvation” means to create your own salvation. How can that be? There are three kinds of salvation. There is a future salvation and a past present salvation. Unlike other salvation, the present salvation is made by us. What does Paul call this present salvation?
Verse 18 says, “In the same way, rejoice and rejoice with me.” But what is the reason for living without enjoying joy? First of all, there is a problem with the methodology. In general, three methods are chosen.
First, there is a heterogeneous method. Someone else coordinates me. The environment tunes me. Thoughts tune me I get excited when I get compliments. If you ignore me, I get angry. If you don't have money, you become angry and worried. Not being promoted, let alone gaining weight, dominates my life. Everything is coordinated outside. This is called batting rate. There is this story. "To like to be praised is to trivialize yourself."
Second, it is an autonomous method. That's the way people wake up. it's up to you to decide I am a child of God! Pray and God will hear you! The Lord will guide me! Recognize everyone. it's self-regulating.
Thirdly, it is a divine method. that God is in control. The problem with our faith is that it did not go through autonomy from heteronomy, but went straight to new rate. I came to see only God's eyes on what other people looked at. So, the most powerful prayer is Jesus' prayer, "Father, do your will", but that is not possible. In fact, God does what God originally intended. You will see the God of love as a fearful God. That is why Paul tells us to work out our own salvation.
There are two ways to live in the world.
One is the law of gravity. It's living in the world, complaining about what you want.
"I live with chirp"
One is the law of grace. Everything is grace. Do we deserve it? How can you have such beautiful children? Can I get my parents? Do you get it if you work hard? How do I worship with doubts?
1. This is a wonderful grace. Now, let's live in this world, enjoying the present salvation.
2. Originally, we came to love.
3. Let's take the ticket off to make love.
4. We must obey and listen to the Word. Let's not stop the words coming to me.
5. And while working as a Christian, let us experience grace without complaints and disputes.
6. Let's be us who can rejoice together like Paul.
