Title: Relationship Restoration (2) Marital Relations
Contents
◎ Text summary and background
The privilege God has given us is to be fruitful and multiply, but we have lost our duty. Lost rights want us to restore it at home. What should be our attitude at home when we find our lost rights? The Bible tells wives to submit to their husbands first. He also tells husbands to love their wives.
1. A wife is told to submit to her husband as to the Lord.(22)
In Genesis 3:16, it was given to Adam who ate the fruit of the forbidden fruit, and Adam also broke the law that God had given him not to eat from the forbidden fruit. God curses people. In particular, he commands Eve, the woman's ancestor, to be ruled by her husband.
I think it is unfair to be ruled, but he commands us to submit to our husbands as a servant would to his master. In Colossians 3:18, Paul says that it is proper in the Lord for wives to submit to their husbands. You should do what you ought to do, not let it go public, and you should think that you should do it of course.
2. Respect order.(23)
As Christ is the head of the church, the head of the wife is the husband. We must obey our husbands as we obey Christ as the head of the church. This is not a recommendation, it should be done. It is not a principle of the Bible that men are stronger and superior to women than that they are obedient to them. This is keeping the order established by God.
3. Husband's position
As the Lord gave Himself for us, we must obey Him. And you must love your wife.
We love our wives in a time when men's positions and shoulders are shrinking like these days.
