Title: Relationships Without Friendship / Luke 2:44
Contents
There are many records of the birth of Jesus in the Bible.
However, the record of the interim period before Jesus' public life is not common. The record that gives us a glimpse of our Lord's life before his public life is the record in the Gospel of Luke that we read today. Just because there are no records of Jesus' boyhood and youth, it cannot be said by analogy.
However, we may be able to imagine the life of Jesus not in vain to some extent, based on the Bible.
Jesus went up to Jerusalem when he was 12 years old. I think this is a very important message that reminds us of the life of Jesus as a boy and a teenager.
Because, through the words of Jesus, it shows that Jesus was conscious that there was a uniqueness that set him apart from others.
Mary said to Jesus, “Luke 2 48 When his parents saw it, they were astonished, and his mother said to him, “Son, why have you done this to us? Behold, your father and I are troubled and have sought you.”
Here Mary said your father and I. However, at the age of 12, Jesus is polite and gentle, but with conviction, he accurately rebukes and corrects his mother's mistakes. 49 Jesus said to them, "Why did you seek me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father's house?"
Mary called Joseph his father, but Jesus said God was his father. The fact that Jesus knew exactly who he was when he was 12
Jesus is conscious of his own identity and is showing that he is preparing for his public life.
The verse we want to consider in today's text is to receive grace from the words, “44 Think of them as being with you, and after going on a one-day trip, find them among your relatives and acquaintances.”
Today's sermon was titled 'Relationships without friendship'.
The title of this sermon shows that today we have a relationship with God and Jesus, but there are many people who do not actually have a relationship.
Looking at today's text, Mary was on her way without Jesus for at least three days. But physically, Mary is still the mother and Jesus is still his son.
Likewise today, many people see people who have been Christians for 3 years and 30 years and live their faith life without any contact with the Lord.
In today's text, Mary lived without Jesus for three days. But for the past 12 years, Mary has been living with Jesus. He knew who he was, as the angel had informed him. He knew that God was twenty.
I knew that he was the ransom who would redeem mankind. Therefore, Mary and Jesus
It would have been different.
Although it is a short message in today's text, if it were Jesus who spoke these words, I think that Mary would have carved many words into her heart through many conversations from Jesus.
Perhaps the life of Mary was like a dream.
Beloved, you do not know how beautiful and precious it is when we say that we are truly living in communion with Jesus. This is because you are not living with Jesus in your house, but living with Jesus in your heart.
I love you my eyes, I love you my ears, I love you my mouth, I love you my hands, I love you my feet, see together, hear together, talk together, work together and walk together. do you feel this
Even today, there are many people who formally attend church services and profess their faith, but do not have fellowship with Christ.
Second - Maraah and Joseph participated in the Passover celebration, and now they are returning home with many people. They go for one day and realize that Jesus is not there. Jesus is lost. This is what is terrifying. Although the relationship still exists, the relationship is no longer there. If you have Jesus in you, you will have fellowship with Jesus. And you will hear the voice of Jesus. Those who listen to the voice of Jesus will live a clean life, and will be blessed with light and praise from everyone.
What caused Maraah to lose Jesus?
Mara and Joseph both thought that Jesus was there and no one confirmed. They were wrong to think that Jesus would be with them no matter what they did.
Beloved, it is a mistake to think that the Lord will be with us no matter what we do or how we live.
Why did Mary lose Jesus?
He didn't do anything terrible. They will be busy. I had to meet a lot of people. I may have had to go shopping because I came to a big city with a lot of effort. They didn't do anything terrible, they just lost Jesus because of simple busyness and carelessness.
Now Mary did not cease to seek Jesus.
Worried and anxious for three days, I walked a long way to find it. But the problem is that in verse 44, I found it among relatives and acquaintances.
Many people have problems with their faith. Then, it is difficult to see one in a hundred people who say that I have lost faith and have lost Jesus in me. It means that something is causing the problem somewhere else. Who says what and why the church?
They blame the environment. And they look for people. I try to comfort people.
Your problem isn't a matter of faith, it's because of that person, it's not your fault that you lost Jesus, it's the church. It is someone else's fault, and they seek comfort from them.
Such a person will never find Jesus, nor will Jesus find him.
In verse 45, it is said that Mary and Joseph returned to Jerusalem because they could not meet.... Mary and Joseph went back to Jerusalem, the place where they saw Jesus last.
The first place they should have gone should have been the temple. But it became a problem because they were looking for Jesus in the wrong place.
They went to the place where they lost Jesus in the first place and were able to meet Jesus. In other words, I was able to meet Jesus in the place where I left him.
Ladies and gentlemen, even today, many people come to church to see Jesus and see a lot of people who go back alone without Jesus. Perhaps it is because it is convenient to live without Jesus, but there are many people who go alone without Jesus.
There is no joy in hymns, prayers, and worship in your life. There is no sympathy. There is no beautiful relationship with neighbors. It does not shine and cannot be blessed. Because there is no Jesus.
Revelation 2:5 Revelation 2 5 Therefore remember where you have fallen, repent and do the first works; if you do not do so and do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.
Beloved, we must come to God through the church.
Luke 2 49 Jesus said to him, “Why did you seek me? Did you not know that I had to be in my Father’s house?” As Mary raised Jesus for a long time, Mary mistaken Jesus for her own son.
So what Jesus said in verse 49
'You didn't have to look for me. Did you think you could find me anywhere other than my father's house? Did you see me spending time outside of my father's work? Do you not know who I am, not just Joseph's son?'
Beloved, you must not come to church or be a hello God. You must live with Jesus in you. And we need to know and confess who Jesus is. And I hope that we will get down on our knees and worship Him. If you do not have fellowship with the Lord, your life will be like a tree in a desert without water. A person who continues to have fellowship with the Lord is like a tree planted by a stream, bearing fruit in its season, and its leaves do not wither.
This will be a life of blue faith. Amen
