Sermons for Preaching

Title (Thursday) Relentless Prayer

Contents

Hymn: 487 (New Hymn No. 369) 'Our Savior Who Bears the Burden'

Meditation: Prayer is a Christian's privilege. However, they do not enjoy all the privileges of prayer. It is because they do not know the secret of receiving answers through prayer. How are prayers answered?

Confession of Faith: Apostles' Creed

Text: “How much more will God not avenge his elect, who cry out day and night? Will he be patient with them? I tell you, he will avenge them quickly.” (Luke 18:1-8)

If a Christian has a hope, he must constantly pray for it. But why can't we keep praying? It is because of discouragement. Disappointment and frustration are Satan's weapons that hinder our prayers. When we don't get an answer even though we pray hard, or when God seems to be silent, we become frustrated and discouraged. But the Lord tells us to never give up and to pray persistently in faith. Among the characters in the Bible, those who were used preciously by God are those who consistently prayed persistently. Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Hannah, Esther, etc. These are all people who received God's answer through persistent prayer that did not give up. What kind of prayer is answered?

First, you must have specific wishes. When someone asks what the prayer topic is, they say, 'It's nothing special. It's just good if they're healthy, and I hope the children do well in the future.' There is no specific prayer subject. God is the One who gives us wishes for His good pleasure. We must pray for the wish that God has given us.

Second, we must pray the prayer of faith. The prayer of faith has the power to work. He said, "All that you ask in prayer, believing and asking, you will receive" (Matthew 22:21). There are many times when we pray with unbelief and doubt, and there are many times when we pray habitually without thinking. But these prayers are not answered. God sees faith and responds.

Third, we must pray with concentration. In order to receive answers from God, we must look to God day and night and pray. Don't think that it's all over with just one prayer. When you pray intensively and repeatedly, the amazing answers of God will appear.

Prayer: God hears our prayers! Please give me great faith to put into practice what I have learned from today's Word. Help me to become prayer warriors who pray persistently by focusing on faith when praying! I pray in Jesus name. Amen
