Camping away from a well-built home is inconvenient. There is a festival in Israel where people leave their homes and camp. It is the Feast of Tabernacles. God gives a very important and valuable lesson to the people of Israel through experiential education called the Feast of Tabernacles. What's the lesson?
1. Remember God
In Israel, the Feast of Tabernacles is celebrated from July 15 to 22. God wanted the Israelites to live without forgetting Him, so He gave the Feast of Tabernacles. As long as God has promised the land, the Israelites will build upright houses and live in the land of Canaan in the future. Then they will completely settle there, but God tells them not to forget that they are still strangers. He tells us not to forget the hardships in the wilderness, and above all, the grace of God who delivered us from slavery in Egypt. Even if we live a comfortable and comfortable life on earth, we must always remember that there is a heavenly kingdom to return to. This is the most important reason why God instituted the Feast of Tabernacles. Faith Is Remembering Our faith is determined by how well we remember God and what He has done.
2. Rely on God alone
In Israel, July (the seventh month) is a continuation of God-ordained feasts. On the eighth day after the Feast of Tabernacles began, we gather again as a holy assembly. Five days before the Feast of Tabernacles was the Day of Atonement. If you look at it this way, there are not many days that can turn yellow in July. But God tells us to enjoy all these feasts. In the private sector, July was the first month. In the first month of the year, the saints need to remember God the Creator. That is why God has commanded us to spend most of the first month in worship and enjoyment. Just because you don't worship and work at that time doesn't mean you have a richer life. Rather, when you give your first time to God, you can experience the riches that God gives.
3. Know God from generation to generation
It is important to carry on the generations of faith. However, the generation of faith does not lead to natural birth alone. It takes effort and hard work. We must diligently teach the word of God to the next generation and demonstrate our faith. God commanded the Israelites to keep the feasts from generation to generation. This is because, unlike the first generation, who experienced the work of God in their body, the next generation may not know much about God, or even if they do, there is a high possibility that they will be limited to knowledge. The Feast of Tabernacles is especially beneficial for teaching faith. Nothing can be learned with certainty than by experiencing it with the body. Generations who have not experienced life in the wilderness can learn from their parents the meaning of the Feast of Tabernacles, God's work of salvation, and God's love and grace toward Israel.
The more you know God, the more you depend on Him. We must strive to pass on the tradition of faith to the next generation. I hope that you will achieve the fame of faith by diligently teaching the words you learn to the next generation.
