Title: Remember God!
Contents
Moses led Israel through the wilderness for 40 years, and now, upon reaching the plains of Moab, tells Israel to remember the past and remember God. Why did Moses say this? It was because Israel was forgetting God. It was because they were living on their own and forgetting God because they saw green grass before their eyes. What we really need to remember during this year is God.
First, we are told to remember that God made us His people (9).
God has chosen Israel as your share. After making a covenant with Abraham, God continued to work to fulfill the covenant with Abraham. God heard them moaning as slaves in the land of Egypt and made Moses their leader, and then allowed them to escape from Egypt. And he made a covenant on Mount Sinai. A nation that had been a slave had never been freed by such great power. But God did it because of the covenant.
In Christ Jesus, God has chosen us. The God who worked for Israel is now working for us. Knowing that we are God's chosen people and serving that God is a great blessing. It is the duty of man to remember this blessing and live a life that glorifies God.
It is also to remember that God keeps them as the pupil of the eye (10).
It is God who has guided and kept them for 40 years in the wilderness. The wilderness was a wasteland, a dangerous place where the beast roared. It is not a place where such a large number of people can live for so long by any means, either human or natural. But in such a place, God embraced and nurtured Israel and cared for them like the pupil of His eye.
The world is just like a wilderness. Please remember that without God's guidance and protection, it will become a barren wasteland where nothing can be harvested, and a bloody place where the beasts roar. However, please also believe that God is guarding you in such a place.
It is also to remember that He led us with the wings of eagles (11-12).
The fact that God led Israel is expressed as an eagle embracing its young. It was not their strength or ability that allowed Israel to spend 40 years in the wilderness, but it was entirely God's guidance. No nation or human could survive for 40 years in the wilderness where nothing was produced. However, it was possible with God's own guidance.
Sometimes we feel like we are abandoned in a difficult place, like a wilderness. But the fact is that God never turns away from us. Please remember that God Himself takes us down and takes us when we are in trouble.
Lastly, remember the abundance of grace (13-14).
It wasn't just manna and quail that Israel ate in the wilderness. What they ate sometimes made them eat five grains of the field, feed them honey that flowed from the rocks, gave them drink of oil that flowed from the crevices of the stones, and gave them curd milk and sheep's milk, plus the flesh of lambs. I say. Moreover, he made them eat ram and goat meat, which is a specialty of Bashan, and also succulent wheat and drink blood-colored wine. These are the things they ate and bought during their wilderness life.
Although we are living in a world like the wilderness, please believe that God will lead us to such grace. Until we enter the eternal kingdom of God, please believe that God's grace will not cease.
Dear saints,
Even now, I hope that you believe that God is working and depend only on God. He is not a God who is locked in history, but a God who works even now. Even now, I hope that you will be prosperous in everything you have given us this year by fully trusting and believing in God who is working for us.
