Title: River of delight/ Psalm 36:1-12
Content River of delight/ Psalm 36:1-12
The river of your pleasure is the joy that the Lord gives you. The original meaning of the word bliss is joy and joy. In other words, drink the river of joy that the Lord gives you to your heart's content. . To drink the river of happiness today means to receive true grace. Who can be such a person? We can find this in three steps in the Word
I. We must forsake the way of the wicked
You cannot experience true joy without forsaking the evil way. There is nothing you can do with the sin problem. But even among those sins, those who do not have the light of fearing God commit the greatest sin. David, especially when dealing with the problem of sin, said that the person who unrighteously blocks the truth from coming to me is an evil person. Those who do evil and rejoice in evil, who call white black, good evil, truth error, peace as commotion, and joy as misery, will not find true joy. Only those who fear God can drink the river of happiness.
II. We must wait on God
In the verse the poet says: ꡐWhen you look at the world, you see nothing but sighs, but when you look at God, a fountain of joy overflows.ꡑ When we see God's attributes, dispositions, and virtues, joy comes. The first of God's virtues is mercy. In the original language, this means not only the meaning of the Son of Man, but also the meaning of love and goodness. In other words, see God's high love, kindness, and goodness. When we go one step further and wait for the truth of the Lord, we will be filled with joy. Also, when we wait for the justice of the Lord, we experience true joy. Finally, there is the judgment of the Lord. The Bible says that judgment is like the sea. It means how mysterious and wonderful the judgment of the Lord is. We will find true joy as we wait for the Lord who is kind, true, just, and judges. God said He will save the righteous. The righteous are those who believe in Jesus Christ. And he said that such a person will find the blessing of contentment and joy, life and light.
Ⅲ. I live under the shadow of your wings
Who can live under the shadow of your wings? According to the Word, David is praying for these two kinds of people: those who know the Lord and those who are honest. Then pray for yourself. Protect me from evildoers. Finally he is satisfied. It is to be satisfied with the fact that the enemy, the wicked, cannot recover. Those who have taken refuge under the shadow of the wings of the Lord, that is, living in Christ. For those who take refuge under the shadow of the wings of the Lord, the rivers of eternal joy will flow.
*Conclusion
Those flying birds in the air think they are freer when they get out of the atmosphere and try to soar, but eventually they fall without air. Today we are the happiest and most free time when we are in the arms of the Lord. That time is the most beautiful time to enjoy happiness. I earnestly pray in the name of the Lord that you can become children who enjoy true happiness in Jesus Christ today.
