Title: Responsibility and Blessing
Bible: 1 Chronicles 9:22-27
2009.11.22. day
Humans are responsible beings. Animals are not responsible. Live by instinct and die by instinct. He doesn't suffer from a sense of responsibility because the pig father failed to act as a father. However, no matter how evil a human being, he feels a sense of responsibility if he has a conscience and does not do what he has to do. So, if you don't have responsibility, you're not human.
The text says that when the people of Israel returned from Babylon by the grace of God and managed the temple, which is God's presence and the center of the community of faith of the people of Israel, they appointed their respective offices and appointed them to take responsibility for them. You will see what you are doing.
Among them, we see the tearful responsibility of those who hold the office of gatekeepers.
1. Those who have been chosen to be gatekeepers
The temple is a place where God's presence resides and is a holy place because it is a place where God's people gather to worship God. Therefore, those who work in the temple must also be holy.
The word holy means ‘set apart.’ Through the Levites, Moses sanctified them and set them apart as a tribe to serve in the temple, not having a worldly occupation or land. So all the gatekeepers in the temple today are Levites.
The gatekeepers who guard the east, west, south, and north gates are also specially chosen again.
“All 212 were chosen to be gatekeepers…”
Dear saints,
You, too, are saints who have been specially set apart and chosen by God to be holy. It means that God has recognized you as a holy people. “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession.”
The gatekeepers of God's temple were also set up separately in this way, so much less needless to say, you who are the royal priests of the kingdom of God and the people of the holy kingdom.
Please remember that I am a noble officer chosen to do the holy work in the holy temple of the Holy Lord. Please take pride and pride in this precious position.
2, the responsibility of the gatekeeper
Now the gatekeepers have work to do. It's about opening and closing the door. This is the responsibility of the gatekeepers. Simple isn't it? But for this purpose, they spend the night by the temple gate, opening the door early in the morning, closing the door in the evening and keeping it all night.
“They were in charge of the temple of God, and it was upon them to spend the night around the temple, and to open the door every morning.”
Here we find something surprising. What do you think of rubbing? I think of it as “the office in charge of the temple of God.”
Of course, if you don't keep the door properly, you're in trouble. It's a big deal if enemies come in or a spy sneaks in.
Next year, our church must also create new officers. Who would you like to appoint as officers?
You give the answer. A person who is faithful in small things, is he not a person who takes responsibility for his work and does it faithfully? But what if those who will receive the office are not sincere at all? Those who will receive leadership positions are obliged to have a morning prayer meeting for more than 100 days. And, not to mention the complete tithe life and holy water on Sundays, we must faithfully attend the Wednesday worship service. You must be an example to others. In everything we say, do, and serve, we put ourselves ahead of others and do it with dedication, loyalty, and responsibility. Those so-called leaders are the leaders. It's Kwon. Ordained deacon, isn't it supposed to be an elder? How can we say that we have been faithful in small things if we do not have 50 days of early morning worship and we do not pay full tithes properly? I am so worried. I'm thinking about it and they're just going to sleep....
Whom does the gate of the temple also represent? The east gate is the king's gate, the west gate is the west gate, and the south gate is the beautiful gate. These gates all represent Jesus.
“I am the door; if anyone enters through me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.”
You have to be good at the gatekeeper. If the gatekeeper is wrong, he will block those who enter through the gate of Jesus and will be saved from entering. And they only let the wrong people in. If only thieves and robbers are brought in, the temple becomes a den of robbers.
Who did that? The Pharisees did just that. So Jesus made a whip and drove them out.
“My house is a house of prayer for all, but you have made it a den of robbers.”
That was angry.
As the British novelist and poet Kipling wrote in his poem:
“It is not unusual to be loyal to the country, it is not in other places, but by holding a tool near you and doing the little things right in front of you.” Said.
Those who think that my small office is that of a king will live like a king, and if they think that my office is lowly, they will become ordinary people. Will you live as a king? Do you want to live as a lowly? Please be faithful and responsible as a royal priest in God's temple.
King Henry of Bavaria once became weary of court life and went to the Abbey to live in the Abbey. The deputy chief explains strict rules to the king, and unconditional and exact obedience is a prerequisite for a monk. Would you like to follow? Then King Henry thought about it and said yes. answered. At that time, the deputy director
“Return to your position. And do your duty in the position that God has entrusted to you.' So the king returned to the throne and became a great king.
Whether it's cleaning, guiding, or being a teacher, the small task that's been given to me today, I hope you all return to your place and be faithful and responsible.
3. Blessings for Responsible People
First of all, those who have been chosen as gatekeepers are blessed. What does it mean to be chosen? It means that you have been approved by God and that you have become God's property. Being God's property is a promise that God will take responsibility for from now on. So we are blessed that we belong to God
Someone is taking the civil service exam. So, I passed the civil service exam. Passing means that the state will select him to work and pay him a corresponding price. In other words, it is a promise that the state guarantees his future. To be chosen as the gatekeeper of the temple is to secure his future in the temple. We must also have this kind of belief. No matter how insignificant it may be, if I do the job God has given me well, God will take responsibility and guarantee my future. This is a great blessing.
We are blessed to participate in the holiness of God.
Those who participate in the holy work of God have become partakers of God's holiness. I am holy, so you shall be holy. Those who work at the Blue House Blue House are also blessed to participate in the Blue House. Where do you work? At the Blue House! He's from the Blue House. Who can enter the Blue House? a person with a certain identity. A person who is trusted by the president. They are all people after the President's heart.
All those who do God's work are after God's own heart. Those who share in that holiness.
Everything that belongs to God is holy.
home - the temple. people - saints. object - relic. Furniture - scriptures. Occupation - clergy. This in itself is a great blessing. Where will such a person finally live? We will live with a holy God in heaven.
So the children of Korah longed for the temple in that Babylon.
conclusion
“O LORD of hosts, how lovely is your tent. My soul longs for the palace of the LORD and grows weak; my heart and body cry out to the living God. .......Blessed are those who dwell in your house, they will always praise you.... One day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere, than dwelling in the tents of the wicked. It is good to be a gatekeeper in the temple of God…”
Dear saints, You are already blessed. Now, I pray that you will be faithful to the end so that you can take responsibility for small things and be faithful to God.
