Title: Rest of Jesus / Mark 6:30-34
Content I. Rest enjoyed by those who worked (30)
Jesus' disciples came to Jesus and told him what they had done and what they had taught. After hearing these words, Jesus told his disciples to come to a secluded place by yourselves and rest for a while. These are the words he spoke to his disciples who worked hard at the work entrusted to them.
He told the disciples to come and rest after doing their best in the task that Jesus had entrusted to them. Rest is a privilege and right that only those who have worked hard can enjoy. Those who do not work and do not exert themselves cannot enjoy it.
Therefore, as God's people, we must do our best when we work and learn to take complete rest when we need to rest.
II. Rest for Tomorrow (31-32)
Jesus exhorts his disciples to go to a secluded place and rest for a while. It is telling you to rest for a better tomorrow. Rest gives refreshment to a weary body or mind. A break is a break for the next job, and an accumulation of strength.
In particular, rest for tomorrow should be like the words of Jesus. First of all, I need to take time for myself and rest. Because you can have time for introspection. Second, go to a quiet place. Because it is suitable for enjoying rest and peace.
Third, take a short break. Because you shouldn't be addicted or addicted to rest.
III. Rest for you (33-34)
Jesus got into a boat and went to a secluded place to rest with his disciples. But the people knew about it, and Jesus and his disciples had come first to the place where they wanted to rest. When Jesus saw these people, he had compassion on them because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he taught them many things.
If you look at this, you can see that even though Jesus went to rest, he valued the poor soul more than his rest. You gave up your rest for your soul. It is a substitute for rest for work for God
He replaced rest with time to pity you.
