Title: Restoration Is Provided by God

text background explanation
Restoration is provided by God.
How do I make recovery happen?
First, we must gather.
Verse 5, “Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the LORD for you.”
Israel gathers at Mizpah just as Samuel said.
Mizpah means ‘watch tower, tower’ and is located 13 km north of Jerusalem and is located at an elevation of 784 m above sea level.
The people of Israel gathered by walking on the uneven road.
Why did they gather?
It is for the restoration of national luck and faith through the Great Gae Movement, and for the freedom of politics and religion from the Philistines.
We gathered together with a clear purpose.
It's not like other people followed.
It's not what others have done.
How are we?
I am here today at this worship service.
For what purpose are you here?
Today's worship should not be yesterday's inertia.
clear purpose.
It should be presented before God while remembering the emotion and grace of Jesus Christ who led and saved me.
Second, it is the restoration of worship.
Verse 9: “Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered a whole burnt offering to the LORD, and he cried out to the LORD for Israel, and the LORD answered him.”
The restoration of worship is the ability to untie the bonds of life.
Example) The decision of two young people
Israel, who had been living apart from God in idolatry for 20 years, cried out to God.
In verse 2, the second half of the text, it says, “All the house of Israel longed for the Lord.”
Here, ‘samo’ is the Hebrew word ‘naha’, which means ‘to cry, weep’.
In the sweet temptation of idolatry, they cry as they look back at their messed up lives.
It took 20 years to realize that.
Ex) The problem and temptation of Baal and Ashtaroth
An idol is a covetous and a sinner, doing what I want to do.
Samuel, 32, orders the removal of idols for full worship.
Verses 3-4, “Samuel said to all the house of Israel, saying, If you will return to the Lord with all your heart, remove from you the foreign gods and Ashtaroth, and turn your hearts to the Lord, and stop serving them, and I will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
So the children of Israel put away the Baals and Ashtaroth, and served only the LORD.”
Restoration of worship is possible when you leave the wrong place in your past life.
We call this repentance.
ex) David, Peter
God helps us to gather at Mizpah to fast, receive full worship with all our hearts and recover.
Even if you have problems with your home, work, workplace, or children, I hope that God's grace will overflow through the restoration of worship.
In verses 10-11, God helps us to win.
“While Samuel was offering the burnt offering, the Philistines came near to fight against Israel, and on that day the LORD sent a great thunder to the Philistines and disturbed them, and they were defeated before Israel.
And the men of Israel went out from Mizpah and followed the Philistines and struck them down to Bethgar.”
We have won through the power of God.
you restored it.
Sometimes God uses lightning, hail, hail, and stars to lead us to victory.
That God is our God.
2009 is not far away.
I pray in the name of the Lord that the grace of restoration that God pours out will come to all of you.
