Title: Restoration of Conversation

Contents

There may be conflicts with individuals or groups.

The fact that there is a conflict can be known by the outward appearance or expression, and the other can be found in the disconnection of the conversation.

Even between couples, psychologists say, fighting is better than silence without dialogue.

Because, at least, fighting can be a means of conversation.

ex) three stupid brothers

Ex) communication method

A break in dialogue is a tragedy.

Because of Adam and Eve's sin of disobedience to God, the relationship and communication with God began to break, and this is manifested as the breakdown of a family, which is the fruit of the brother's murder of his brother.

In Genesis 11, they build the Tower of Babel for their own name, but eventually their language is changed and scattered due to God's judgment.

The text shows the recovery from this disconnection of dialogue (text verses 9-12).

The cultural barrier of lack of language is breaking down and we begin to communicate with each other.

The climax of that restoration is found in the second half of verse 11 of the text.

“We all hear them speaking in our own tongues the great things of God.”

The Holy Spirit came down like tongues of fire, and everyone began to speak in tongues.

They are of different ethnicities and different languages, but they understand what they are saying and give an answer.

But the Bible says that this work is to reveal the great works of God.

Biblical scholars say that the miracle in the text is a one-time event.

To that extent, the event in the text was a groundbreaking and surprising miracle.

So how could such a miracle happen?

First, it arose through the filling of the Holy Spirit.

Verse 4: “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

The dialect here was not the dialect spoken in 1 Corinthians 14, but a conversation between a foreigner and a foreigner.

When I preach in Korean, Americans understand it in English, and Germans understand it in German.

In Acts 2:43-47, they share all things with each other and come together in the temple to break bread, have fellowship, and praise God.

And as verse 47 says, “And he was praised by all the people, and the Lord added day by day those who were being saved.”

Can these things happen in an artificial way?

The answer is No.

It was only possible when we were filled with the Holy Spirit.

Second, we gathered in one place.

Verse 1: “When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all gathered together in one place.”

They gathered in one place and prayed with all their heart (Acts 1:14).

In 1 Corinthians 15:6, it says, “After that, he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once.” It says that there were more than 500 people who first witnessed the resurrection and ascension of Jesus.

In Acts 1:15, it is recorded that 120 people gathered. If so, where did the 380 people go?

Perhaps they have returned to their respective homes.

From that point of view, the fact that 120 people gathered in one place proves that they prayed earnestly, risking their lives and waiting for the Holy Spirit, the promise of Jesus (Acts 1:4).

Everyone!

Make an effort to get together!

Sundays are the basics, so do not miss out on cell gatherings, Wednesday worship services, and Friday prayer meetings.

Please remember that the miracles in the text happened when we gathered in one place.

Organize your words.

During the week, I read Ken Blanchard's book 'Praise Makes Whales Dance'.

The whale reaction and the back-slap reaction

The whale response is to praise good merits and not only praise the results, but also praise and encourage the process.

The back-slap reaction is to point out and talk about the other person's mistakes and mistakes.

We have a conversation, but what type of conversation should we have?

In human relationships, we have conversations in a way of praise and encouragement, and in faith, we hope that creative conversations, not superficial ones, will blossom in the family, church, and in the life of the members by being filled with and holding on to the Spirit .
