Lord restore me (Hab 3:1-3)
Today's text is Habakkuk's prayer. The word Habakkuk means “to embrace”, and as the name implies, he offered prophecies and prayers to embrace the country and the people. The prophet Habakkuk was interested in “God’s justice.” However, it is the content of crying out while lamenting that those who live righteously will rather suffer a lot.
It is a prayer of struggle to overcome the difference between God's justice and human reality. It raises the question of how to overcome the difference between ideals and reality, and the difference between faith and life, and teaches lessons. It emphasizes that God is a God who is always participating in our reality. Even if it seems that God's justice is not being realized, if you persevere and overcome with faith in God, you will eventually have victory by living by faith.
“O Lord, may your work revive within these few years” (2)...
The phrase “within these years” means the middle of Yonsei. "Speaking of a day, it is the same time as noon"... If you say a year, you can say that it is midsummer, July-August, and in terms of human age, it can be said that it is a middle-aged man in his 30s or 40s.
Habakkuk thought of Judea as a man and prayed. It was a prayer that I hoped for a good end without ruining my middle age. It was a prayer that the Jewish people would not perish but be resurrected before they were saved through the Messiah.
1. Restore prayer.
The prayer-like prayer introduced in the Bible is the prayer of Abraham. In particular, Abraham is a man who clings to God as an intercessor. They prayed for Pharaoh (Genesis 12:20), for Abimelech king of Gerar (Genesis 20:17-18), and for his nephew Lot (Genesis 18:22-33).
Abraham's intercession was a model of the intercession of Jesus Christ. The example of Jesus' intercession can be found in the prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane. Prayer to hope that God's will would be done was an intercession for God's people.
Intercession must be restored. Of course, we cannot reach the intercession of Abraham or Jesus, but we must pray for our families, our neighbors, the saints, and our nation and people.
2. Restore the power of your Word.
The power of God's Word is the power that created the universe. It is the ability to provide control of the universe. When God spoke, heaven and earth were created. A miraculous work happened when God cried out the word of revival for 6 days.
As Psalm 147:15 says, “He sent his command to the earth, and the word ran swiftly.” This means that wherever the word runs, any problem will be solved. Why doesn't the power of the Word appear in our lives?
Psalm 107:10-11 says, “Man sits in darkness and in the shadow of death, and is bound in agony and chains, because he disobeys the word of God and despises the will of the Most High.” To restore the power of God's Word is to respect and accept the Word of God.
3. Restore the spirit of the cross.
The cross is the most shameful thing in the world and at the same time the most noble. To the people of the world, it is the most disgusting and difficult thing, but to the saved people of God, it is the power of salvation.
Paul said, “The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God” (1 Corinthians 1:18).
Thousands flocked to the field of Bethsaida to share the bread, but there were only a few women on Calvary who were ready to die. Why did so many people flock to eat the rice cakes, but not a single person appeared on the way to the cross? Because it lacks the spirit of the cross. In order not to become a bearer of the cross (Galatians 5:11), we must nail our passions and desires to the cross (Galatians 5:24). And we must endure the cross (Hebrews 12:2).
4. Restore the filling of the Holy Spirit.
The filling of the Holy Spirit is not quantitative. qualitative meaning. The filling of the Holy Spirit does not mean many things, it means powerful things. It means the powerful control and guidance of the Holy Spirit. It means that individuals, families, churches, nations, and nations are governed by the Holy Spirit and controlled by God.
Paul strongly exhorted, “Do not get drunk with wine, for this is debauchery, but be filled with the Holy Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18).
5. Restore the favor of God.
Hosea said, "Then they will return and seek the LORD his God and David his king, and in the last days they will go out to the LORD and to his favor, out of reverence" (Hosea 3:5).
Through the opening service of the United New University, I am confident that if the seminarians are personally, family, and ecclesiastical, a great revival and recovery will take place. I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will surely recover in the fall semester of 2010.
