Title [3.6] Restore Your Faith
Contents
(Heb 11:6)
People often refer to this era as the ‘age of disbelief’. It has become a world where neighbors, friends, and even family members find it difficult to trust each other. Why did this happen? The biggest reason is that they do not care about God and are living their own lives. There are many things that need to be restored in our lives, but I believe that faith needs to be restored especially among them.
God wants faith more than anything else. Without faith it is impossible to please God, and God does not want offerings made without faith. Faith can be divided into two types: saving faith and working faith. Saving faith is the only way a sinner can be saved, and it is the faith that leads to salvation only by believing in Jesus Christ. Working faith is the faith that God is looking for as the faith that is answered. God's work can be changed according to our beliefs. Is the power of God being shown in the lives of the saints? Is there God's work in the believers' faith? I hope that God's power will arise through the saints, overflowing with faith that works as well as faith that is saved by each and every one of them.
Then, through what kind of faith will God accomplish history?
First, through faith the size of a mustard seed. In Matthew 17, while Jesus was going up to the Mount of Transfiguration to pray, 9 disciples came to see a child possessed by a demon. But they couldn't get them out. Later, the disciples asked Jesus why they couldn't cast out demons. In response, Jesus said that it is because of little faith. In addition to these words, he said that if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you can command this mountain to move from here to there. Please believe that God can work even with the faith of a mustard seed.
Second, through little faith. There was a time when there was a storm in the boat where the disciples and Jesus were riding. The disciples were afraid. Jesus did not say that he had no faith toward the disciples who were trembling in fear, but he rebuked them, saying, “You who have little faith.” The characteristic of little faith is that it sees people by looking at the surrounding environment. I believe that if you only look to God like Job, regardless of people or circumstances, you will be able to grow in faith where God's work is revealed.
Third, through great faith. It happened while Jesus was in the region of Tire. A Syrophonic woman with a young daughter possessed by a demon came to Jesus and begged him to cast out the demon possessed by her. But Jesus refused to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs. It could have hurt her pride enough, but the woman does not give in and begs once again to let her eat the crumbs of her master. Jesus said to this woman, "You who have great faith, great is your faith." Great faith is the faith that never gives up until the end. I hope that all the members of Sungmin Church will receive such praise from the Lord with great faith that does not give up.
Please remember that the believers' faith greatly depends on what they think of God. The greater our expectation and faith in God, the greater the work of God will come upon us. I pray in the name of the Lord that you will experience the great work of the Lord through the restoration of faith in God.
