Title: Resume of two people
Contents :
Today's verse is Jesus' parable to those who consider themselves righteous and despise others. To think of yourself as right is that you do not understand true righteousness. To despise others is pride and arrogance. The two people in today's sermon are the same people who came to the temple for an interview.
Pharisees are people who are called elite in Jewish society, and they like to be praised and listened to. Another tax collector, a tax collector, is a person who lives while receiving the title of sinner in Jewish society until they collect taxes on their own people and donate it to Rome, until they are called patriots in their own society. Matthew, a disciple of Jesus, and Zacchaeus, who met Jesus, are tax collectors.
If you look at the resumes of the two
If you look at the resume of the Pharisee, he is morally and ethically clean. I have never extorted, I have never done anything unrighteous, I have never committed adultery, I am not like a publican. He fasts twice a week and pays tithes of his income.
Seri's resume has only a few letters. “I am a sinner.” Even from afar, he could not even raise his eyes and look up to the sky, but beating his chest and pleading for pity.
Announcement of successful candidates
No one can play the game. There was a difference between myself and others. But the most important thing is to know who you want to elect from this temple.
Who are the workers God is looking for?
God is looking for humble people.
And you are looking for someone who gives you the center. This is because God is a God who looks at the heart, not the outward appearance.
He is looking for a worker who confesses his sins. Those who become workers in the kingdom of God are not talented workers, but those who realize their sins and come to God.
He is looking for people who will depend on God and work.
Companies and schools are all about recruiting talented people, so why doesn't the Kingdom of God look for talented people? Because God makes all people talented. Look at the disciples. No one has exceptional talent. Therefore, God is not looking for talented people, but He is looking for people who will work with God alone. The church is not desperately looking for people with brilliant ideas, but looking for people who know that they are sinners, know their weaknesses and weaknesses, and depend on God to serve. Therefore, He is the God who forsook Saul and chose David, and forsaken Esau, who was strong like a wild man, and chose simple Jacob.
The true workers of the church, the workers the Lord is looking for, know that they are sinners and are thankful for the grace that has called them, and seeks people to serve.
