resurrected jesus christ
"...I set YHWH before me always; because He is at my right hand, I will not be moved. Therefore my heart rejoices, and my glory rejoices, and my body will dwell in safety, for you will not leave my soul in hell; You will show me the way of life, full of joy in your presence, and eternal joys at your right hand."
(Psalm 16:11)
“If it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how do some of you say that there is no resurrection from the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. And your faith is also in vain, and we will be found false witnesses of God, for we have testified that God raised Christ. Without it, Christ would not have been raised. If Christ were not raised, then faith is in vain, and you are still in your sins, and those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. more pitiful, but now Christ has risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of them that slept."
(1 Corinthians 15:12-20)
Can a person die and live again? This question has been asked by all people at least once since the beginning of human history.
No religion or philosophy has ever given a clear answer to this question. However, our Savior Jesus, who was born on this earth through the Virgin Mary 2,000 years ago from now, answered this old question as refreshingly as the clear sky without a single cloud through his life, death, and resurrection.
1. Jesus' empty tomb
Jesus was publicly executed on the cross of Calvary by the Jews and the Roman governor at the age of 33. And he was buried in Joseph's tomb by the women who followed Jesus and by Joseph of Arimathea.
But three days after he was buried, when Mary Magdalene and Mary, Joanna, Amia the mother of James, and the other women went to the tomb early in the morning to anoint the body of Jesus, a great earthquake occurred and an angel of the Lord came down from heaven. Those who rolled the stone and kept it low and guarded over it and fled.
The angel in the splendid robe told the women that Jesus had risen from the dead. As the angel said, the tomb was empty. The women who saw this ran to the place where the disciples of Jesus were to spread the news.
Mary Magdalene, young and quick-footed, ran quickly and reported the news to Peter and John. They ran and entered the tomb, and found that Jesus' body was gone and only the linen cloths he was wearing were well lit. After seeing this, they returned and only Mary Magdalene was sitting at the door of the tomb weeping while Jesus was standing behind Mary. Mary thought it was a gardener and asked to know where Jesus' body had been removed.
At that time, when Jesus called, 'Mary!', I turned around and saw the resurrected Jesus. Jesus told Mary to go to the disciples and let them know that Jesus has risen and that He is ascending to Heavenly Father. Immediately, Jesus appeared before another group of women and showed them his resurrection.
At that time, two of the disciples were discouraged by the death of Jesus and headed for Emmaus, twenty ducks from Jerusalem, when Jesus appeared and showed them on the road. At first they were blindfolded, so they could not recognize Jesus, but while Jesus was eating with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to them, and their eyes were opened and they began to recognize the resurrected Jesus Christ.
When the two returned to Jerusalem excitedly and told the other disciples that the Lord had risen, suddenly Jesus appeared among them and showed the disciples his hands and feet that had nail marks on them. Here, you even ate a slice of grilled fish there.
Thomas, who was not present, came back later, and when he heard this, he did not believe the truth and laughed at it. But the next Sunday, when they were sitting together, Jesus appeared again and said to Thomas, 'Put your finger here and see my hands, put your hand into his side, and see. ' Then Thomas greatly repented and believed.
After that, they all went to Galilee and waited for Jesus. On a foggy morning, they met the risen Jesus again, ate together, and Jesus restored Peter, who was deeply wounded in his heart.
2. Certainty of Jesus' Resurrection
In this way, during the 40 days after His resurrection, Jesus clearly testified that He was alive and appeared to more than five hundred saints at once. And finally, He ascended to heaven on the Mount of Olives. How could there be any room for doubt in the face of so many evidences of resurrection?
However, both in the past and today, the evil Satan is trying to sow doubt and distrust with clever tricks. As a result, those who oppose the resurrection of Jesus are sophistrying that the resurrection of Jesus is a lie.
The first is that Jesus did not really die, but fainted on the cross, and when he was moved to a cool tomb, he woke up again and claimed that this was the resurrection.
This is such an absurd speculation. Jesus died on the cross as recorded in the Bible, and the Roman soldiers who confirmed it pierced Jesus' side with their spears, and his heart burst and water and blood flowed out. And only after Pilate confirmed that Jesus was dead, he delivered the body to his disciple, Joseph of Arimathea.
The second is that the disciples stole his body from the tomb and then spread rumors that he was resurrected. This is a really lame word.
There is no way the disciples who had already abandoned Jesus and fled to the tomb guarded by the world's strongest Roman elite soldiers gathered again, fought with them and defeated them and took the body. This is absolutely impossible, and if it were to do so, some of the disciples would have been caught or killed.
However, seeing that all of them attended without a single drop out of John Mark's upper room, that was not the case.
In addition, even if it is assumed that only one dead body was stolen, it would be absurd that even one of the disciples could, without exception, be martyred for the sake of lying that he was alive even though he knew he was dead.
Third, even though Jesus was not actually resurrected, he admired and loved Jesus so much that the disciples caused mass hysteria and saw a vision as if Jesus was resurrected.
This is the pinnacle of lies the devil has concocted. There has never been a false vision that so many people have caused collective hysteria for such a long period of time in the history of mankind, and it is far less likely that the spiritually weak who have seen such a vision will bring about a great religious revolution that overturns human history.
No matter how much the devil tries to overthrow the sure evidence that Jesus was resurrected, this is a very stark fact that he cannot deny. Jesus Christ died on the cross according to the Bible, was buried, and resurrected on the third day according to the Bible.
3. What Jesus' Resurrection Means to Us
So what does the resurrection of Jesus mean to us?
First, the resurrection of Jesus proves that human life does not end with the life of this world. Human beings are created in the image and likeness of God, and the soul dwells in the body. This is an event that clearly shows the fact that believers go to heaven and non-believers go to hell when they leave the veil of the body.
Second, through the resurrection of Jesus, the existence of God the Father, who created the heavens and the earth, who brought about the resurrection of the dead, is historically proven through human experience.
Third, the resurrection of Jesus is proof that God was pleased with the blood for the forgiveness of sins that Jesus shed on the cross. .
Fourth, whoever believes in Jesus now becomes a righteous person who is forgiven of their sins through His grace, receives the Holy Spirit of God, and becomes the people of the kingdom of heaven.
Fifth, it proves that the devil, who has dominated mankind since Adam, robbed, killed, and destroyed us, was completely defeated in the battle of the cross, deprived of all his principalities and powers, and that his arms were disarmed.
Jesus overcame the devil, overcame all the powers of death and hell, and resurrected, opening the way to heaven and eternal life.
Finally, the promise of Jesus' second coming and the hope of the resurrection of the believers are guaranteed forever.
Jesus, who ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God's throne, will come to pick us up in the future. When the Lord Himself descends from heaven with a shout, the voice of the archangel, and the trumpet of God, the dead in the Lord rise first, and the surviving ones are also suddenly changed and caught up with us in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and from that day onwards we will receive the Lord forever. will live with
To accomplish this, the Lord suffered on the cross, died and rose again the third day to become our eternal Savior, King of kings, and Lord of lords.
-- Prayer --
We give thanks, praise and glory to the Lord, who gave us eternal life by dying on the cross to atone for the sins of mankind, who have no choice but to die eternally, overcoming the authority of death and resurrecting.
Now that our saved saints have died to sin and lived to righteousness, let us live as light and salt in all our lives, so that we can become true witnesses of God and lead us to concentrate on the work of expanding the kingdom of heaven. I pray in the name of Jesus. - Grace Ministry Information - 97.11 ☞ Sermon/Park Seongkyumok Amen.
