Title: Resurrection and Personality/John 20:11-18

Contents Resurrection and Personality/John 20: 11 -18

Today's text proceeds with the story of Mary who found the tomb of Jesus Christ. In this tomb, Maria meets several types of people. In such a meeting, we see that his eyes of knowledge and faith are opened. In this respect, Mary is considered to represent who we are today.

As Mary wept outside the tomb, she turned and saw the angel in the tomb. The angel called Mary a woman and asked why she was weeping. In response, Mary asks who took the body of Jesus. There was no answer to this. Then Maria finds out that someone is behind her. He also asks Mary, woman, why are you weeping, and is asked who you are looking for. Mary thinks that the man is the gardener, that is, the tomb keeper, and asks that if she knows where Jesus' body is, she will find him. Until that moment, Mary had no idea who the man was. It was just that he was caught in the limits of what he wanted to do and his cognitive abilities.

Now is the moment of transition. When Jesus called Mary Mary, Mary opened her eyes. That's when I found out that that person was Jesus. It was only when Jesus personally called Mary's name that his eyes of faith were opened, he was able to overcome the limits of his cognitive abilities, and he recognized the risen Jesus Christ. This personal calling takes us out of our human limitations and ascends into the mystical world of faith. This is the event of resurrection and the event that brings new life.

The apostle Paul had such an experience. On the road to Damascus, he saw the resurrected Jesus Christ appearing in a vision. At that time, his physical eyes were covered, but his spiritual eyes were opened. And he traveled to Asia and Europe, preaching that Jesus is the Christ and the Son of God. He had become a wonderful instrument of God.

The same is true for us today. When God calls us personally, we open our eyes to a new world of faith. It means opening your eyes to a new life. Those who enjoy this will be in a position where we can joyfully praise God today. Jesus is risen! This is the good news of salvation given to us.
