Title: Resurrection and Power

Bible: 1 Peter 1:3-7
──────────────────────
Not long ago, I saw a man come out on TV and talk about his life. He lost his parents when he was young and was raised by his grandmother with his older sister, but he was too poor to graduate elementary school. Then I got to work at a sewing factory, and it was both strange and sad that a young child worked so hard, so the owner of the sewing factory allowed him to study at a computer academy. So in 2000, I got a job at Samsung SDS. And 11 years later, this year, he became the Samsung SDS web design team leader.
When the panelists who appeared on the show asked him, “How could you get a job at Samsung, a large company without a diploma?”, I heard him reply that he was able to get a job because Samsung placed more importance on skills than academic background when recruiting employees. I did.
That's right. Even if we look at famous sports stars such as Yuna Kim, Jisung Park, Chanho Park, and Gyeongju Choi, we see that they are not recognized in the field because of their excellent academic background.
Also, these days, people are discovering that people have great abilities, and I think the most important thing these days is the smartphone. These days, there is nothing that a smartphone cannot do. You can do everything you need these days, such as navigation, music, and the Internet, not just a phone call. And if all the necessary data is a book, a huge amount can be stored in a small smartphone.
However, as we saw on March 11th, no matter how great the human ability is, seeing the great earthquake and tsunami in Japan and the explosion of a nuclear power plant pose a threat of radiation, I remind myself that the human ability to excel in the face of nature's ability is not a big deal. feel it.
However, if we look at Joshua 10, we see the battle between the Israelites and the Amorites. In that battle, Joshua prays to God. “God, when the sun goes down, there is no war. Help the sun not set for today. So let the sun rise in the midst of heaven until you drive out the Amorites.” Then God hears the prayer and sees that the sun does not set in the middle of the sky for a while.
You can also see that he parted the Red Sea and made the Israelites cross like dry land. In this way, no matter how great nature's power is, it can be seen that in the presence of Almighty God's power, even nature obeys.
Romans 5 says, “While we were still sinners, our Jesus died on the cross for our sins.” Romans 5:6-8 says, “By this he demonstrates the love of God toward us.”
In this way, God’s love is “God’s love that Jesus, who was without sin, took our sins and died on the cross”. Then, the power of God is the power of God that raised Jesus Christ from the dead.
We must accurately distinguish between God's love and God's power. The love of God is the love of God that Jesus died on the cross to pay for my sins. It is the love of God that He sent Jesus, and the power of God that raised Jesus from the dead.
It is the power of God that raises Jesus Christ from the dead like this today. Today, I would like to briefly consider how the power of the resurrection that resurrected Jesus has had an effect on us.
First, belief in the resurrection of Jesus Christ is salvation.
There is a fact that we must remember while looking at Romans 10:9-10. “If you confess Jesus as Savior and believe that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, you will be saved.” We will be saved by saying that if you believe that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, you will be saved. Please remember that if we believe in the resurrection, we will be saved.
Please believe that the blessings of salvation are given to us when we believe in this truth that Jesus died for me and that Jesus rose for me. Believing is very important.
Second, we are empowered through the resurrection of Jesus.
Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh is faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. We live within.” This is a phrase we know all too well. We now live in the resurrected Jesus Christ.
The reason that Samson was able to defeat a thousand people with one donkey jawbone and the young David was able to defeat Goliath was possible because of God's power when God's oil came. In this way, the power of God gives us the power to live.
Disciples are people who have experienced all the miracles and life of Jesus. Nevertheless, when Jesus was crucified, not one of them escaped. However, we can see in the Bible that the lives of all the disciples changed after meeting the resurrected Jesus.
Dear saints, I hope that you will become believers who realize that the Lord of Resurrection, who has risen from the dead, resides in us, and who boldly lives the life given today with the power that God has given, and lives with the power of life.
Finally, the resurrection of Jesus gave us the power to overcome death.
One of the plays I saw in America was about Lazarus. People ask Lazarus, who has been resurrected. “You died and came back to life. What has changed before and after you died and came back to life?” Lazarus gives this answer. “I am no longer afraid of death.”
Those who believe in the resurrection of Jesus do not fear death. Even if our Lord takes us tonight, we need not fear. Because we are glorified with the Lord and live with Jesus in heaven for eternity, there is no need to fear.
Dear saints, I pray in the name of the Lord that we will become those who have faith in the resurrection, receive the power of the resurrection, live life boldly, and overcome the death that naturally comes to us with the power of the resurrection.
