Old Testament
1 At that time, saith the LORD, I will be the God of all the tribes of Israel, and they shall be my people.
2 Thus saith the LORD: The people that escaped the sword found favor in the wilderness, when I went to bring Israel to rest.
3 Once upon a time, the LORD appeared to me, saying, "I love you with everlasting love, and with lovingkindness I have drawn you."
4 I will build you up again, virgin Israel, and you will be established, and you will again take up your trumpet and come out dancing with those who rejoice.
5 You will again plant vines in the mountains of Samaria, and the one who sows will begin to harvest their fruit.
6 On Mount Ephraim there will come a day when the watchman will cry out, saying, Arise, and let us go up to Zion to the LORD our God.
new testament
34 Peter opened his mouth and said, Truly, God does not look at the outward appearance of men,
35 I realized that among all the nations, all who fear God and do righteousness are accepted.
36 Words sent to the children of Israel, preaching the gospel of peace through Jesus Christ, the Lord of all
37 You also know that it was preached throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee, after John had proclaimed the baptism.
38 God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
39 We are witnesses of all that he did in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, and they put him to death by hanging him on a tree.
40 God raised him to life on the third day and revealed him.
41 Not to all the people, but to the witnesses chosen beforehand, to us who ate with him after his resurrection from the dead.
42 He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that this is the one whom God has appointed to judge the living and the dead.
43 All the prophets testify about him, saying that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.
sermon
Did Jesus, who said, “Whoever strikes you on the right cheek, turn to your left cheek” also wanted us to lose to others every day? If we do as He said, “If you would come after me, deny yourself and take up your cross,” are you saying that we should all just die? no. The Lord gives us eternal victory.
1. Victory over the evil one: Jesus overcame the evil one by resurrecting and gained eternal victory. “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power.
… He healed all who were oppressed by the devil” (Acts 10:38). The risen Lord also gives us victory over the wicked.
2. Victory over death: “They killed them by hanging them on a tree, but God raised them up on the third day” (verses 39, 40). For the risen Lord, death no longer reigns. Although death may frighten us, it cannot destroy us in Jesus. Death ended with the resurrection of Jesus.
3. Eternal Victory to Overcome the Judgment of Sin: “Through his name, all who believe in him receive forgiveness of sins” (verse 43). Through one man, Adam, sin entered the world, and all became sinners, but God Through one man, Jesus Christ, all are made righteous by faith. Jesus died on the cross for us and rose again for us. Our sins were forgiven through Jesus' death on the cross, and we have eternal victory through Jesus' resurrection.
Because when we believe in the Lord, the Lord is in me and I am in the Lord. Resurrection is an eternal victory.
