Title: Resurrection Man

Contents

title ; man of resurrection

main text ; Mark 16:1-20

How are the hearts of the saints facing the morning of the Resurrection?

Are you thrilled, excited, and warm in your heart?

Or are these phenomena disappearing day by day, and you are only worried about how much to donate for Easter?

At least when I wake up in the morning, the sound of hymns praising the risen Lord should come out of my lips. Otherwise, how am I going to live today? Doesn't it just come out as a complaint?

So, even if I try to be moved or excited, my heart is still blunt and cold, and I have doubts about whether there is something wrong with my faith in the resurrection because there is nothing different about last week or today's Easter Sunday.

If we look closely at the Gospel accounts that deal with the resurrection scene, we find that the Bible deals with the resurrection event in a very different way than we think and expect. In other words, the common evidence of the Gospels about the field of resurrection is that they do not speak with excitement and enthusiasm like those who were liberated on August 15th.

On the very first morning of the day Jesus was resurrected, some women who loved Jesus with great devotion came to Jesus' tomb with spices for the body of Jesus with great devotion. They went to see Jesus, who was still dead. But when they arrived at Jesus' tomb, the tomb was already empty. Although it was very early in the morning, the sun was already rising, so there was no possibility of mistaking it to another tomb.

In front of this empty tomb, they finally confirmed the tremendous fact that Jesus had already risen from the angel's notice. However, there is no thrilling expectation for the resurrection or the crazy thrill and excitement of those who witnessed the scene of the empty tomb anywhere in the scene of the women at the scene of the resurrection that morning. Moreover, despite the fact that the news that Jesus was resurrected gradually spread to the disciples, the Bible repeatedly points out that when the disciples heard the news, they were excited, moved, and jumped, and “raised their hands high and praised the Lord.” No, it is the fact that the disciples did not believe.

The disciples of Jesus, the women who followed Jesus, and the many people who loved Jesus so much had been told many times before Jesus was crucified that he said, “I will die, and I will rise again.” However, what these people had in common in front of the empty tomb and in front of the news of the Lord's resurrection was that they did not believe it, instead of praising them with their hearts burning, weeping, and jumping.

In the end, the Gospel emphasizes that the resurrection event is not a matter of emotions, but a matter of faith.

At the same time, there is a very important message given. That's what it means to gather together in Galilee. The Gospels, which record the scene of the resurrection, focus on Galilee, not the empty tomb. People focus on the empty tomb, come to the empty tomb, but to those who come to the empty tomb. And the continuing command given to all who do not believe in the resurrection of Jesus is to gather in Galilee.

Before he was arrested, Jesus said to his disciples, “After I die and rise again, I will go before you into Galilee.” In other words, “I will be resurrected; come ye to Galilee. Let's meet there." It was Galilee that again urged these men who had come to the tomb in an urgent tone. You are repeating what Jesus said before he died.

And he went quickly and said to his disciples, "He has risen from the dead, and he is going before you into Galilee, where you will see him." (Matthew 28:7)

Luke speaks louder. To those who came to this empty tomb

Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen. Remember what he said to you when he was in Galilee.

(Luke 24:5, 6)

What do you mean?

It means that you are not going where you are going and you have come the wrong way. It is not meant to come as an empty tomb, but to go to Galilee, but why are you here?

In Matthew 28:10, the risen Lord speaks directly.

Then Jesus said to him, "Do not be afraid, go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee. You will see me there.

After Jesus' resurrection, all focus is on Galilee. So where is Galilee? It is a place where we meet the risen Jesus, where the resurrection of Jesus is confirmed by the disciples.

Therefore, we need to know that the resurrection is not a matter of sitting still and feeling excited and excited by itself, but that it is confirmed by meeting the risen Lord there, holding on to the Lord's promise and heading to Galilee.

Even in the field of our lives, our resurrection must be confirmed by meeting the risen Lord. Resurrection is therefore not a philosophy, an idea, a concept, or an influence, but a history, an event, a concrete reality.

But there is a final command to those who gather in Galilee to confirm the Lord's resurrection.

“Therefore, you go” is the command.

“Go ye into all the world” is the command.

We are given the field of today's life, where we must live as those who have confirmed the resurrection.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always diligent in the work of the Lord. For you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Brethren, by the pride I have in you in Christ Jesus our Lord, I affirm that I die daily.

After all, will the resurrection heat our hearts? will you say Will you be thrilled or not? It's not a question of what to do, it's not a question of whether the dance comes out and the trio of hurrahs come out, it's not a question of what it should be, it's a question of faith, and it's a matter of the will to decide to live today as a person who will be resurrected.

It is a matter of the person who has confirmed the resurrection, and the person who believes that he will have the resurrection as his own, decides to live today as one who has the resurrection and who has the resurrection.

Believe in the resurrection of the Lord and in my own resurrection, and let it be Easter where we decide to live today as a person who will be resurrected.
