Title: Resurrection of the Dead
“For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead also came through a man.
As in Adam all died, so in Christ all will be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:21-22).
Human beings are inseparable from death, and this fact is already known to man himself. The Bible says, “It is appointed for man to die once” (Hebrews 9:27a).
I. Creation, death and resurrection of soul and body
However, human beings, created by God in the first place, were not created to die like this. The soul, through God's communion with God, was created to live eternally indestructible, enjoying His life, and although the body was made of dust, it was created immortal by virtue of God, who is eternal life. It was created so that an immortal body and an eternal soul meet to become immortal.
However, through the sin of one man, Adam, sin entered and had a profound effect on the soul and body. Natural life remained, but by severing our spiritual relationship with God, we lost our vital communion with God, which could be said to be truly eternal. The body was created to be immortal, but over time degenerated to be swallowed up by death, the result of sin. The human body has an immortal soul and perishes in time, so it has become a living being in a tragedy where the human soul and body are separated.
On the last day of Resurrection, God collects all these physical substances and reunites them with the soul, so that God makes one glorified body, which is called Resurrection. The substances that made up our scattered bodies are saved, the souls of the dead come down from paradise and become one immortal body with their own bodies, and the souls of the unsaved dead come up from hell and become unconnected with the body. Resurrection refers to becoming an immortal body.
II. Resurrection of Life, Resurrection of Judgment
Resurrection is clearly divided into two kinds of resurrection. One is the resurrection of life and the other is the resurrection of judgment.
All those who have died in Jesus who come to the resurrection of life will be brought into a state of eternal blessing by meeting the body and soul that have been resurrected. There, believers will see the light of God's glorious revelation, which is renewed and increasing day by day, from which they will enjoy infinite happiness and joy. You can think of heaven as a place where the indescribable life-long joy of realizing God's Word and knowing love is expanded to infinity and arises anew every moment. Therefore, heaven is not a place to eat and drink. The true joy in heaven is that our souls feel joy when the light of the truth shines on who God is. This is the realization of the existence and disposition of God that we did not know before. It continues indefinitely every moment in the eternal heavenly life. The existence and disposition of God are perfect and infinite, so no matter how much you show us, the beauty of God's existence and disposition has not yet been fully revealed. The joy of living in heaven is right here.
Believers can taste the joy of heaven ahead of time even in the world. It is to realize the word of God, to discover the beauty of God there, and to feel joy. It is not because of a lack of material that the world is so gloomy and dark. Because there is no joy in this truth.
Hell, on the other hand, shows your majestic character at every moment, so it is a place where the men of hell with filthy souls tremble in extreme fear and terror. The more the Lord shows Himself, the brighter the light shines upon them, but since their souls are eternally defiled, the fear and great fear that is manifested in God's righteous disposition is a new and increasing day by minute Hell. However, since the body will not be destroyed, the body has been resurrected for the work that the body endures all the pain in the fiercely burning fire, but the body is not destroyed forever. That is the resurrection.
III. the present experience of the resurrection
Jesus was resurrected from the firstfruits to show that the glorious resurrection that those who believe in God will live is real. God's raising of the dead body of Christ with power is the assurance that all of us believers who will be grafted into Him will live again in Christ Jesus. As a guarantee, the resurrected Holy Spirit has come into the heart of the believer.
Because many ancestors of faith had the hope of this resurrection, they were able to overcome persecution and hardship and sing through the valley of suffering in life where there is no choice but to despair. It was because of the hope of the resurrection that I could not be afraid of physical death.
Then, if the essence of Christian faith is not attachment to this world, where it will remain for a while, but to long for eternal resurrection to live with Christ, why do many Christians today believe in eternal resurrection, a glorious privilege granted to the children of God? Will I live without feeling the hope and joy of it? The reason is that in order to live in the hope of eternal resurrection, the resurrection of Christ Jesus must be experienced in me now and presently in my heart and soul. When that happens, we can live in the future, looking forward to the eternal and final resurrection.
IV. conclusion
Life is what you feel when peace comes after being broken through deep repentance. It is not a temporary resurrection in my soul, but a longing to go forward to that eternal divine life resurrection, in which my whole being will no longer be affected by sin and live again in eternal life. That is faith.
If we put all our hopes on this world that will disappear after a while, we will lose hope together with the world. However, even though we live in this world, when we long for the eternal resurrection that will come to eternal life because we experience giving and living with Christ, we are not people who are bound by the world to stay for a while, but people who live in hope for the eternal kingdom of God. .
Our life of faith is to die with Christ every day and to live with Christ again. That is why, when you come into contact with lifeless people, you become a tool to deliver life and love to them, constantly reviving their souls and allowing them to live by faith before God. This is a wonderful life of faith before God.
