Title: Revival of the Spirit

revival of the soul

Ephesians 2:1-10

An old Cherokee Indian was teaching his grandson about life. "There is always a fight in the heart."

He said to his grandson, “It's such a terrible fight, it's like two wolves fighting.

One is a devilish guy, who shows off his false self with anger jealousy sadness regret greed pride resentment self pity guilt inferiority false vanity

The other is good, but this one represents joy, peace, love, hope, kindness, the stillness of goodness, humility, compassion, generosity, truth, compassion, trust. This kind of battle takes place in you too, and in everyone's heart.

"The grandson thought about it for a moment, then asked his grandfather, "Then which wolf wins?" the old Cherokee replied simply.

“The one you feed wins.” There are many hearts within us, but the shape and outcome of our life will change depending on what kind of heart we hold onto.

Dear saints, starting in the new year, let's keep a good heart and grow it.

Whether in the past or now, the whole world is doing its best for national economic and personal revival.

In addition, research and efforts are made in various ways for business development and personal growth. In this way, everyone wants growth, development, and revival. If there is no growth, development, and revival, whether it is a country or an individual, it will naturally retreat. You lose battles and competitions.

In particular, the church must fight and overcome the power of Satan. That's why we call the church a spiritually militant church.

In order to win this battle, you must grow and revive. For this, the whole church is praying and trying to live by the word.

We remember the prayer of the prophet Habakkuk. Hab 3:2

“..Lord, may your work be revived within these years, and manifest within these years.

This is our prayer and wish for today. It is also the secret to victory.

Therefore, the growth of the church is not something that can or cannot be done. It must grow and revive.

Dear saints,

It is said that the church is built when the tears of the saints are filled and on the knees of the saints.

The revival of the church is achieved through the revival of the individual soul. The same is true of the question of salvation.

The salvation of the family is achieved through the salvation of one person.

It is the fact that the revival and growth of the church is achieved through the revival of one soul.

Therefore, we must remember how important each person's mental state is.

In today's text, the Apostle Paul wrote to the church in Ephesus, to the saints who were chosen in Jesus Christ and redeemed by His blood, in verse 5, "He made you alive, who were dead in your trespasses and sins." And the Apostle Paul goes on to add an explanation.

Let's look at verses 2-5.

First, Paul describes the condition of the dead in sins and trespasses.

The first is to follow the world's customs.

See verse 2. In other words, we follow the temptations of the devil who has seized the power of the air. Dead fish float along the waves. I can't climb any higher. just going down. This is the state of the dead.

Those who are spiritually dead are completely governed by their environment. They are easily influenced by and follow the evil customs of the world. I don't even try to fight. Because they fear material damage rather than spiritual damage.

Therefore, they cannot overcome Satan's temptation and are dragged away. This is the dead state.

Second, we live according to the lusts of the flesh.

Do what your body and mind want. In other words, we live instinctively. Everything is self-centered. This is the state of the dead. In a word, it means disobeying God's will and disobedience.

Sin cuts off communication with God in this way and ultimately leads to death.

That's why the Bible says, "Since death came through sin, in the same way death spread to all men because all have sinned."

In Ezekiel 18:4 it says, “...the soul that sins shall die”, and in Romans 6:23 it says, “The wages of sin is death, and the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” I did. The wages of sin is death. Sin kills the soul and the restoration.
