Title: Revelation 02:10 Honor to be pursued

Content "The honor to be pursued" Revelation 2:10

There is a hymn that we all know very well, “This body that has been called out” (chapter 355). In verse 3, it says, “Receive the honor and glory, all authority, the Lord alone. All '

It's a really touching hymn. How thirsty and wept as we sang this hymn? However, I wonder if even the pursuit of an honorable name in 'Without a Name and Without Light' in this hymn is being criticized by worldly greed.

The Lord despises us. The cross is not the one who alone receives all the powers of honor and glory. Rather, he wants us to live with honor, giving us everything.

What is honor?

Honor is the most valuable and precious thing above all. Nowhere in the Bible does it say to regard honor as one's devotion. Rather, the Bible tells us to cherish honor. When God told Abraham to leave his father's house, he promised, "I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great" (Genesis 12:2). - Literally translated, 'I will make your name great'. This means that God will make Abram famous so that his name will be widely spoken. Words)

Ruth 4:14 "The women said to Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, that you have no one to take an inheritance today. May this child's name be made famous in Israel." called a lot)

Psalm 91:14 "Because he loves me, I will rescue him," says God. "If he knows my name, I will exalt him."

Ecclesiastes 7:1 "A beautiful name is better than precious oil, and the day of death is better than the day of birth." (A 'beautiful name' refers to a good 'fame' of a person. The Hebrews considered it very honorable to have their name remembered for a long time (8:10; Job 18:17; Proverbs 10:7).

God Himself valued His honor.

Exo 20:7 You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain

The psalm says to praise the name of the Lord everywhere.

So, what is the greatest honor among honors?

That is why the Bible tells us to be willing to lay down our lives for this precious honor of being a child of God.

These words do not say to be faithful to the point of death, but to die faithfully (martyrdom). To the Jews who were in the throes of being deprived of all their possessions and losing their branches of life because they believed in Jesus, the writer of Hebrews is telling them to be martyred rather than apostate and corrupt, even for the honor of being a child of God. You have fought against sin, and have not yet resisted it to the point of shedding blood (Hebrews 12:4).

We must seek intellectual property, authority, and honor. But for me, it is considered garbage, and for the Lord alone, all these things must be used wisely.
