Title: Revelation 02:16-17 Repent
Content Revelation 2:16-17)
The Lord rebuked the Church of Pergamum for falling into the temptations of heresy. What should we do when the Lord rebukes us? Simple. You just need to repent. Then the Holy Spirit works and forgives. A good church is a good church, and a good church is a good church. Repentance must be done quickly. Koreans like to be quick, but there is one thing that needs to be done quickly. That is repentance.
The Lord told the Pergamum church to repent. We see two types of people in the Bible. The situation is the same. However, the people who accepted the situation had a completely different mind. The result is a heaven and earth difference.
When Peter cried out to the crowds in Jerusalem who had crucified Jesus, “Repent,” they repented. But it was the same sermon, but the crowd who heard Stephen's sermon were stabbed in the heart and killed Stephen. Those who killed Stephen are recorded as sinners of history. However, those who repented after hearing Peter's sermon are revered as pillars of the early church. When we say let's go back to the early church, that includes all those who repented at that time. We want to be like them. It must be accompanied by thorough repentance. Only through thorough repentance for mistakes can a new history be made.
What if we do not repent? “Repent therefore, or else I will come upon you quickly, and make war against them with the sword of my mouth” (Revelation 2:16). It's really scary. If they do not repent, God is declaring war that He will fight them with the sword of the Word.
“You shall keep my statutes and my ordinances; if a man does it, he will live by it, and I am the Lord” (Leviticus 18:5) Where is the way to live? It consists in repenting and living the law of Jehovah God. We must repent and return to the Lord. In any case, the Lord cherishes and cares for those who repent and return to His bosom. Those who do not repent are headed for destruction in one way or another. The way to repent quickly is the way to live. I pray that you will repent and become saints who receive the love of the Lord.
