God to be glorified
Text Revelation 4:11
The resurrected Jesus commanded his disciples to “become witnesses to the ends of the earth.” So, the disciples first preached in Jerusalem, and after Stephen Deacon was martyred due to the great persecution of the Jews, they each went to the ends of the earth to witness the gospel and were martyred. And the only remaining apostle was the apostle John. The apostle John is said to have lived to be over 100 years old.
The Roman Empire, which ruled the world at that time, was at first tolerant of Christian missions, but gradually became a victim of Christianity in order to divert the attention of the people whose public sentiment deteriorated due to corruption and corruption. In particular, the perverted tyrant, Emperor Nero, began to massacre Christians by spreading the rumor that "Christians set fire to it" because public sentiment worsened due to the great fire in Rome. They even captured Christians and threw them to starving lions to death, tied them to a cross and burned them to death.
In particular, the 4th chapter of Revelation that we read today records how John entered the kingdom of heaven at the call of God, and the holy throne and angels escort and praise him.
These words will give us a lesson on what kind of attitude we should have to worship and worship God as we live on the earth today and have little interest in God because we are always distracted by the things of the earth.
1. God is the living God who waits with the door open.
If you look at verse 1, you can see that there is a clear gate into the kingdom of heaven.
"After these things I saw a door open in heaven," he said, "and a voice said, "Come up here." God opens the gates of heaven and invites those who are after God's heart. Do you invite anyone to your house? If you meet someone you like, you invite a happy person. Invite anyone who wants to give anything.
According to the Bible, God opened the gates of heaven to Jacob, the forefather of Israel, at Bethel. And the angels showed me the ladder going up and down. This door is a door of prayer. It is said that if anyone prays, the gates of heaven will open and angels will raise their prayers and give them answers.
The door of prayer is open to you too. Jesus clearly said, “You will put on it, and it will be opened to you.” It shows that God will open the door of heaven and respond to you when you knock on the door even when you are going through hardships like Jacob. It is the door that opens even when we struggle in a world like the lonely and painful wilderness like Jacob. Also, when deacon Stephen was martyred, he opened the heavens and showed the Lord standing on the throne. This door is an open door that showed that the Lord Himself would welcome a faithful servant who did God's work well like a triumphal general.
Also, when he sent Peter to Cornelius's house to save the Gentiles, he opened the door of heaven and sent down a cloth. This is the door that showed that whoever believes, whether Jew or Gentile, can be saved. The door he showed Saul on his way to Damascus was the door that called the missionaries.
Elijah prayed to the point of breaking his back to open the gates of heaven that had been closed for three and a half years. So it rained. The door that was opened to Elijah was the door that showed that miracles can happen if you believe and ask without doubting.
The door shown to the prophet Malachi is the door of blessing that blesses the saints who believe that the material they have received is given by God and know how to distinguish them from God. This door is open to anyone who has been saved.
Therefore, saints! Please believe that the door of heaven that was shown to the apostle John in the old days is still open to those who seek by faith, those who obey the Word, and those who want to accomplish the Lord's will.
But this door is a narrow one. People don't really look for it. It is the door that I do not seek because I do not want to pray. But today, even if you are hot, tired, and busy, please believe that it is an open door for those of you who come to God's house, hear the word, believe and knock according to the word.
2. God is on the holy throne.
Let's look at verses 2 and 3. “I was immediately moved by the Holy Spirit, and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and there was one sitting on the throne, and the shape of him who sat down was like jasper and jasper, and there was a rainbow around the throne, and its shape was like a stone of rock.” . The throne in heaven is the throne of the ruler who rules all things in the world. All sovereignty is under the jurisdiction of God on the throne. It is the throne of the Almighty, which no one can resist and cannot overlook. Satan dares to pass
