Title: Rich fool (Luke 12:13-21)
Contents
'You are a good businessman, admired by many, rich, and you
What's the secret to being good?'
Then 'Rockfello' said 'It is the right judgment and the right choice'
'Rockfello' is 'You have to make the wrong decision to know'
'Rockfello' replied, 'In a word, it is wisdom'.
That's right. We should live our lives wisely so that we will not have any regrets later.
We know that life isn't always dichotomous, but in many cases it easily splits in two directions.
Are you getting better day by day? Or is it the worse one?
Did you do your best? isn't it? do you have a vision Don't you?...
It's a small difference at first, but we know that as we go step by step, there is a huge difference that is irreversible.
Everyone! Are you now walking in the direction of getting better day by day?
The answer lies within each one. Amen-
In the text, a man came to Jesus and asked for a solution to the inheritance
There is.
Jesus rejected the plea and rebuked the covetousness that filled his heart.
That is verses 13-15 of the text.
Dear all! Our loving Lord is so engrossed in the world that he
He was wary of the sinful behavior of humans, who even lost their existence.
Covetousness here means 'not only covetousness for material things but also greed for worldly things.
It is a generic term for sinful appearances.'
The Lord is speaking of the importance of a person's life, not that the abundance of possessions sustains or protects a person's true life.
In fact, the Greek word 'zoe' that is decomposed to 'life' in the text means God's life, that is, eternal life.
In other words, covetousness sets the goal of life on something other than life, which ultimately leads to destruction.
In fact, this man who came to the question of the distribution of property in the text was rebuked by the Lord because his heart was focused on worldly things, as if he did not even know the ministry and status of Jesus.
Dear all!
Everyone's life is limited.
No one dies twice, no one never dies, everyone dies.
Therefore, since it is a limited life, we must have the thrill of salvation.
Because everyone dies, we need the eternal life of Jesus Christ and the kingdom of heaven.
Considering the limitations of life, praise the God of salvation and pray for a good life of faith.
Then, in verses 16-21, the story of the 'foolish rich man' appears.
In fact, everyone wants to live like the rich man in the text.
I want you to be well and live a long, long life. He wants to live forever if he can, but he lives in vain as if he were the only exception.
In the world, there are 'people who are rich to themselves' and 'people who are rich to others'. There are 'people who are rich in God', which one are you?
We must live a life rich in God. This is faith and blessing.
So, look at verses 16-18 of the text.
The rich man did not become unrestrained or wandering, but devoted all his heart to accumulating wealth.
He is so obsessed with material things that he looks like a slave to wealth.
But the bountiful harvest of the field gave trouble to this foolish rich man.
why? Doesn't the infinity of greed for more show the deep thirst of the soul that wealth cannot satisfy?
There is a young death row inmate. The executioner who was executing the death sentence arrived at the prison and gave the
I'll give you five minutes.
So how will the death row inmate spend the last five minutes? It is decided after deliberation.
First two minutes to say goodbye to everyone who knows me,
Two minutes to thank God for letting me live to this day and to say goodbye to the other death row inmates next to me.
And for the rest of the minute, the beauty you can see and the fact that you make me stand until the very last moment.
Two minutes had already passed as I decided to say thank you and swallowed the tears from my eyes, saying goodbye to my family and friends.
And the moment I looked back on myself and thought that my life would be over in 3 minutes, my eyes went dark and I shed tears of regret for not being able to spend the years that have really passed. .
And after saving his life, he remembered the five minutes given just before the execution, cherishing the precious time of his life, and thinking of each and every moment as if it were the last.
I have lived hard.
As a result, he published immortal masterpieces such as 'Crime and Punishment', 'Brothers Karamazov' and 'Eternal Encounter', and became a world-class writer compared to Tolstoy. That prisoner is Tostoevsky.
Everyone! You must be concerned with eternity.
The foolish rich man in the text had no interest in God or his neighbor at all and only satisfied his own greed.
There is no end to the greed of 'build bigger, bigger, bigger...'.
But if you do more, you will die.
'A young couple bought a house outside the toilet after not eating and not using for 10 years. I was happy for a while, but it's not uncomfortable because the toilet is outside.
So I tightened my belt for another 10 years and bought a house with a bathroom inside the house.
How warm and comfortable. But now that the kids have grown up, every morning is a toilet war.
So, after another 10 years of hard work, I moved into a big house with two bathrooms.
But after a while, he fell ill and died.
As a result, 'change three toilets' is a life that has been completed.
Everyone! How is it? Isn't life just changing the bathroom?
Don't be greedy.
Dear all! We can be content and happy when we live, we are content, we are grateful, we share, we serve.
I pray that you will give up your endless greed and live your life looking only at God with interest in eternity.
Finally, in today's text verses 19-21, the foolish rich have accumulated wealth through blood and sweat
But he did not know that there was a referee.
So God directed this rich man with a well-thought-out plan for his life.
They are called 'stupid', that is, mindless and indiscreet.
The rich man had planned for many years, but God said, 'Tonight I will take your soul.'
Tonight is to emphasize that his plans are completely in vain.
Everyone! Wealth has no power to sustain our lives overnight.
Our soul means life, and the phrase 'recovery' tells us that human life is a loan from God and must be given back someday.
Our lives are in the hands of God.
That is why we must serve with stewardship and humility, knowing that human life and wealth are based on God.
We are all believers in God.
Now let us know the limits of life, let go of greed, serve with love and concern for eternity, and act love with humility, faith, faithfulness, and obedience.
Then you will live a life that shines like the sun.
Be a wise steward who buys rich people from God, not foolish rich people
I sincerely wish you to become the hero of the crown. Amen-
