Title: Rich Man and Lazarus
In Luke 16, Abraham said, "Son, remember this, because in your lifetime you received your good things, and Lazarus suffered.
Dear saint! Just as there is a contrast between the rich and the poor in this life, in the next life there is a contrast between those in heaven and those in hell.
First, the difference between rich and poor in this world (Luke 16:19-21).
The rich man lived in a good house, dressed in good clothes, ate good food, and enjoyed life without envy. The rich man took care of his health, such as eating well, resting, and taking medicine, so he never got sick. On the other hand, a beggar named Lazarus had no home, so he lay down at the gate of the rich man's house. Because there was nothing to eat, they became malnourished and had boils, and because there was no money to treat them, it got worse and the skin was torn and scorched. It was a difficult and difficult Lazarus who turned away from people and the dog came and licked the old place. What fell from the table was eaten by dogs (Mark 7:28), and when Lazarus tried to satisfy himself by falling from the rich man's table, he was treated like a dog by the rich. Are there no such poor people around you? What would you do if someone like Lazarus was lying on your doorstep?
Second, the difference between heaven and hell in the afterlife (Luke 16:22-31).
Both the rich and the beggars received the calling of God in due time. There was no mention of whether they had any faith. But it can be speculated. The meaning of the name Lazarus is ‘God’s help’. If you look at the names your parents or their ancestors gave you, you must have grown up in a family of faith. Even though this is not a true story, but a parable, the fact that the rich man did not use his name, but only Lazarus, suggests that although he was a beggar, he depended on God's help to live. The rich man did not take care of the beggar at the gate of his house. That is the case in Matthew 25:41. So he went to hell and Lazarus was in Abraham's bosom. I was in such anguish that I could live with just a drop of water with my finger, so severe the pain of hell was. No matter how luxurious he lived in the world, what good would those memories help him? When his request was rejected, he asked that he send Lazarus to witness so that his brothers would not come to Hell.
Dear saint! No matter how well you live on this earth, if you do not go to heaven, it is a tragedy, and no matter how painful you are here, going to heaven is an honor. No matter how difficult it is, we must keep our faith until the end and do our best to enter the kingdom of heaven.
Our Lord Jesus Christ! Keep your faith until the end and let me enter the kingdom of heaven.
