Title: Rise and Pray / Luke 22:39-46

Content Sermon Title Get Up and Pray

Bible Verse Luke 22:39-46

As Satan, who has taken the power of the air, knows that his time is short, I hope that the saints who are living in this age, who are constantly attacking with the last effort, will overcome Satan with the grace and power of God and that good things will happen every day. Because prayer is the way to live with God's grace and power, we would like to receive grace today under the title of Jesus' words to his disciples, “Get up and pray so that you may not fall into temptation.” Because Jesus Christ is God the Son, He needs to receive prayer. Jesus, who does not need to pray, prayed every hour and prayed “according to his custom” (verse 39) on the Mount of Olives. Now, by following that example, we all want to become believers, receive answers, win victory, and enjoy blessings. Today's text is the last prayer of Jesus, and we want to receive grace by thinking about why we should pray and how to pray.

1. Why should we pray? (verses 39-40, 45-46)

2. What kind of prayer should we pray? (verses 41-42)

3. How should we pray? (verses 43-44)

With the help of an angel, he prayed more earnestly. In the Bible, we bowed our heads and prayed (Genesis 24:26, Exodus 4:31), raised our hands (2 Chron. 6:12, Isaiah 1:15), stood up (Mark 11:25, Luke 18:11), and went to heaven. He prayed while looking at him (John 11:41), and today, unusually, he knelt down (verse 41) and prayed. It was humility before God and earnestness to show an urgent situation. Also, the word “work hard and work hard” means that there are many interpretations of Jesus’ earnest prayer to take up the cross, and his sweat falls to the ground like drops of blood. It is said that blood was mixed with sweat, and it is just as earnest as it is. The spiritual battle with Satan before the cross began with this prayer and has already come to a conclusion. Saints! Let us pray as earnestly as Jesus prayed. Let's pray with a cry of prayer (Jeremiah 33:3), earnestly enough that our tongues dry up (Isaiah 41:17), and with a heart that seeks earnestly (Proverbs 8:17). It is God who gave Samuel to Hannah, who prayed enough to know that she was a drunken woman. (1 Samuel 1: ) I want you to be a saint who can receive and enjoy the cry of the poor widow who overcomes the unjust judge (Luke 18: ), who has promised to give her what she asks for. .

Let me finish my speech.

“Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray.” This is the voice of the Lord for us at this time. Darkness reigns, and Satan's attacks with anxiety and fear are severe, so we need to get up, pray, and overcome temptation well enough. We need to pray because the environment and conditions are difficult times. Instead of seeking with the world centered on you, we must find out what God wants and pleases us and seek according to His will. I want you to become a saint who can receive the power of God's grace and fulfill a new work and enjoy a victorious life by praying earnestly enough to get blood mixed with sweat, not formally or unconsciously.
