Title: Road to Love
Road to love 2006-02-12
I. Entering
There can be no happiness where there is no God who is the light of wisdom. Since humans are easy beings who think that they are the center of the universe, they cannot enjoy true happiness unless they receive the light of truth that makes us realize His will for us and become a wise person who walks in the light every day. Today, in this time, we are going to examine in what sense the road to the light of truth is the road to love, and how those two paths lead believers to happiness.
II. Happiness: Having God
The path to the light of truth becomes the path to love. So, what are you talking about love? We have to think again about having God to talk about this love. It is not out of love for Him that sinners seek God, but out of love for self that stems from the limitations of human beings and the bitter pain of sin. However, when a sinner who proceeds in this way receives God's full love of agape, he will have the supreme and pure caritas love for God, and with that love, he will have the communal love of loving God and loving his neighbor. Only a believer who possesses this love can have a true measure of happiness in life. For to possess God is to possess the light of truth, that is, to love that wisdom deeply.
A. Having a measure: The environment of this world is constantly changing, and our hearts and thoughts when we look at it are constantly fluctuating. However, the measure that teaches true happiness must be something that can be viewed in succession through eternity, and must be universally accepted. He who possesses the immutable and eternal God possesses such a measure.
B. Knowing, loving, and following the truth: Therefore, those who wish to possess God are those who seek to possess wisdom, the unchanging measure, and those who constantly know, love, and follow the truth that communicates that wisdom. Happiness is knowing the truth, conforming my life to that truth, and drawing close to the Lord.
III. road to love
True happiness is living in possession of God, the source of love and wisdom. Therefore, it can be said that happiness is to love the truth that leads to wisdom, to love God, who is the source of that truth, and to receive His love. But the problem is that the word of truth does not always praise us, but often rebukes us.
A. When the truth rebukes: Although the reproof of the truth is very painful, why can it be said that the one who receives it is a happy person? Even when we receive God's love a lot and when we are severely disciplined, what we feel is that God still has a relationship with me, and that I am still the object of God's love. The reproof of truth is an expression of His love for God, who alone knows the path to true happiness, intervenes toward foolish people who walk astray without knowing its will. For this reason, God's most terrible punishment for mankind is not to discipline him, but to leave him alone. So, how could he not be happy under his care through the reproof of the truth? When a believer is under this rebuke, the following three reactions occur.
1. Thinking of God: Rebuke through truth leads us to think that God lives, has a moral will, and rules the world according to His order. Although the mode of human life is constantly changing, God's will for each time is consistent. Therefore, the rebuke of the truth of His will reminds us that God lives and that we are called upon to live in obedience to His will.
2. Finding God: To think about what God's will is and how to live according to his will is to seek Him. When our hearts, minds, and minds are all focused on Him, we see ourselves in the light of His standards, and that leads us to seek Him eagerly. When we are in grace, the state of our hearts is all focused on Him, but when we are in sin, everything is scattered, revealing our unconventional life.
3. Desire to be loved by God: When we think of God and seek Him, we return to the thought that there is no happiness except to love God and be loved by Him. When our hearts, who have loved God completely, become corrupt and receive the rebuke of the truth, if we do not receive love from God again, we will realize that we have all these things, but that we are nothing. However, this does not mean the life of an ascetic monk. It means to enjoy all that God has given you, but to use it, and to know that the only thing you love is God.
B. Relying on Christ with love: The greater the disappointment caused by the reproof of truth, the more you taste the insurmountable separation between God and I, the more you think of Christ as your Mediator, and the more you depend on Him. The feeling of will is the feeling of love. In particular, prayer shows the love that depends on Him. When we crave God's love in this way, we become more dependent on Christ, realizing that we don't deserve it.
1. Abandoning Pride: When we depend on Christ, we give up all pride in us. The rebuke of the truth makes us know how wrong we are before God and how low we are to be loved, so that we depend on Christ, who died on the cross for us. Therefore, it is not the law or discipline that destroys our pride, but His wonderful love shown through the cross. The love of Christ converts and heals us. Therefore, only believers who have received that love can be patient and wait for their neighbors for a long time. This is because Christ is among us and we are throwing away the order of love established by our pride.
2. Anxiety of perfectionism: When a believer loves Christ, he always has a fear of losing that love. But this fear is not the destructive anxiety of disobedience, but the perfection-oriented anxiety in the obedient believer. It refers to the spiritual timidity that makes the believer sober, sober, and maintains uprightness and spiritual virginity. People who have a heart to live according to God's will will inevitably experience great pain. But it is not the anxiety that destroys us, nor the pain that harms us. It sounds like a paradox, but this is the time when believers can be happiest. Therefore, in order to walk the path of happiness, in the fullness of this love, we must live with ??strong faith, ??firm knowledge, ??happy hope, and ??burning love.
IV. Conclusion and application
Are you looking for happiness? We love God, who is the light of truth, and there is no true happiness except to be loved by Him. As the days go by, I hope that your eyes will shine with the realization of the truth, and your hearts will be burned with the love of God, the source of wisdom, and Christ, who leads you to Him.
