I. Entering
The reason that only believers can be sages on the path to happiness is because God has restored the power of men who are completely incapable of seeking true happiness, so that they already possess the truth and are close to it. learned that Today, in this time, we are going to look at the wisdom of the two lamps (wisdom and love) necessary for a believer to live as a true sage on this earth.
II. The Path to Light: Wisdom
I have been living a religious life for a long time, and I have more knowledge and the Word of God, but I often feel that my quality of life is not as good as it used to be. This is because even though the regenerated believer already possesses the truth, the supply of grace for a happy life has ceased due to the separation of life from God who is the truth, and as a result, he does not possess wisdom so that he can continue to use it. In order to pursue true happiness, believers need two lamps of wisdom and love, so let's take a look at wisdom first.
A. Definition of Wisdom: Wisdom is the measure in the soul that measures all things. The reason why this wisdom is necessary for a happy life is that it is difficult to correctly recognize the original form of things because arbitrary standards for likes and dislikes are so dominant in humans. Natural judgments may be possible to some extent, but moral judgments are not. Therefore, this wisdom, which is like an unchanging standard, must live and work in us to ensure that we do not lose the standards that are based on God's purpose for creation, not ours, so that we can make correct judgments.
B. When Wisdom Lacks
1. Falling in love with oneself: In love, people fall in love according to the order that they consider important. When wisdom is lacking, humans are meant to love themselves, not God, and they put themselves in the best place where God should be, and come to believe that God should exist for them as well. In this lack of wisdom, it is impossible to properly discern what should be truly loved and what should not be.
2. Commitment to vanity: When wisdom disappears, people dedicate their hearts and minds to vanity. Saved believers are those who can live by discerning what is right and wrong from the darkness of their soul, and they are able to live a wise life that they could not live before through the supply of the grace and power of the Holy Spirit. But even a believer, when he loses his wisdom, becomes content with what he thinks is good and dedicates himself to what is worthless. There are too many examples of that.
Ex) ①Luxury - It comes from a vain mind overflowing with fractions beyond the portion given to oneself. When human beings lose the secret to being satisfied and happy with God, they are bound to follow the desires of the flesh. Therefore, luxury is not a matter of whether or not we actually enjoy it, but rather the desire to live beyond our fractions as a human being. It is a matter of desire.
② Hate - Hate does not benefit anyone, even to oneself, to people, to the church, or to God. The reason the believer is wasting and pouring himself into hatred without forgiveness is because there is no precise measure of what such a life means in the light of God's purpose of creation.
③Lust The goal of lust is to pour out the turbulence within, and ultimately to the production of sin. People become devoted to the momentary pleasures they can enjoy while pouring it out.
④ Despair - When people enter the order of things they do not want, people feel despair when all hope that the situation will be restored to the order they want disappears. This, too, is only one's own desire due to lack of wisdom. The purpose of God's creation of the soul was to move the body and to enjoy the ultimate happiness. Therefore, in order to enjoy true happiness, our souls must be constantly renewed and wisdom must not be lost so that we can constantly love the Lord. When you fall in love with yourself, your body may enjoy a brief moment of joy, but your soul is in constant pain.
III. the way to wisdom
All of the above confusion and folly is due to the lack of wisdom, and only when this wisdom is discovered through the Word can it be accurately discerned. A believer is no exception to this slippage, so he must constantly possess the lamp of wisdom and illuminate the path to be walked as a sage.
A. Two Wisdom
1. Original wisdom: It is the wisdom that only God has, and God Himself is wisdom. God created all things with wisdom and love, and allowed man to rule over them. Therefore, loving God, glorifying God, and human regeneration, sanctification, and glory are ultimately the embodiment of God's wisdom and love and return to it.
2. Derived Wisdom: It refers to the same kind of wisdom that is derived from human beings even though it does not reach the wisdom of God in the level. This wisdom differs from person to person in degree. This shows that we need to be constantly supplied from God, the source of wisdom, and to grow in this wisdom day by day. The Bible tells us that Jesus was also full of grace and truth, and that with his stature, wisdom increased. Wisdom helps us to know ourselves and God, and to correctly discern the right meaning and purpose of life.
B. Wisdom and Truth: God teaches us through truth that He Himself is Wisdom. Since finite and imperfect humans cannot know Him who is infinite and immutable, they learn the wisdom of God through the truth that contains His wisdom. Truth itself is not wisdom, but it is like a channel through which wisdom flows. If you learn, meditate, and practice and experience it in your life, you will understand not only the word of God itself, but also the intention of God who said it, and you will have a strong desire to live that way. A will will arise. This can be said to be the possession of wisdom.
C. The Way to Possess Wisdom: In order to be able to truly mine external truths as objective facts, and to make them come alive within me?
1. Knowing the truth: You must realize the truth. The only time a believer can truly rejoice is when he realizes this truth.
2. To contemplate the truth: keep thinking about it and keep it in constant relation to yourself. It makes me want to live like that.
3. Loving the truth: The love of truth reorganizes itself into that love, making it a heart that seeks to fully conform to itself.
4. Practicing the truth: Finally, we must put the truth into practice. This corresponds to the final quenching on the road to happiness, and it is difficult for people to get to this stage because it requires a very hard sacrifice.
IV. Conclusion and Application: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. To be full of His truth, to live in possession of His wisdom, this is the true happiness of the believer.
Sharing 1. If there are any experiences that God has shared with family members during the holidays, let's share them.
