Title: Romans 11:1-3 Three Requests
Content 3 requests
(Romans 11:1-3)
Brothers and sisters, how should people live?
How to live in this world, how do you really live like a believer in Jesus?
The first answer that comes up is, worship well.
Look at verse 1. “First present your body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.
This is your spiritual worship.”
What is worship?
It refers to your relationship with God. Is it a good relationship or a close relationship?
Or is it a relationship that is not very close and is maintained only formally, etc.
Worship is where all of our relationship with God is immediately revealed at a glance.
It's gone now, but on TV, grandparents in the countryside come to visit and bring laughter.
There was a program. One day, an elderly couple appeared and was doing a crossword puzzle.
Grandpa explains about , but Grandma can't keep up with this
There was. As time went by, the desperate grandfather said, "Ah, you know, a word that refers to the same thing as us!
said.
Then, as if the grandmother knew, "Aha, no matter what!" shouted out loud.
As if surprised by the old man's scolding, "No, what are you talking about, there are four letters in it?"
There was a time when my grandmother answered, "I am a lifelong enemy" and made everyone laugh.
Worship is the beginning and the end of everything for Christians.
Therefore, if the worship life does not work properly,
All other religious things that the person does also fail.
No one has ever succeeded in a life of faith without being successful in worship.
But in today's words, offer your body as a living sacrifice,
He said that it is a spiritual worship that is pleasing to God.
What does it mean to offer your body as a living sacrifice?
Everything we do with our bodies in our lives becomes worship.
Worship does not end with just gathering in the chapel on a Sunday like this.
Because living in the world itself becomes worship, it is a normal thing.
Occasionally, there are many people who ask about alcohol and cigarettes.
"Where in the Bible is the phrase 'Don't drink, don't smoke'?"
That's right. You can drink and you can smoke.
If so, put it in front of a bottle of alcohol and say, "Thank God for letting me drink Jinro soju.
I'll drink." If you can pray with that confidence, don't.
And, as the Bible said, you can eat it if you are confident not to get drunk.
The more you drink, the clearer your mind and new energy will come, and it will make you live harder,
If it leads me morally and ethically cleanly,
What's wrong with drinking?
However, the more you drink, the more your body breaks down and your mind breaks down.
The same goes for cigarettes. About 4,000 toxic chemicals (insecticides, briquette gas, ammonia, butane gas,
naphthalene, etc.) and over 43 carcinogens.
Whether in a foreign country or in Korea, I drink and smoke while having a deep spirituality and excellent faith.
I've never seen a person.
Alcohol, drugs, pleasure and lewdness are increasingly destroying people's bodies.
Smoking and drinking are already basic for high school girls,
It is said that many elementary school students are already addicted to tobacco.
A body like this cannot be used for the things that please God.
To a person who cannot take care of one's own body, how can God solve the problems of spiritual life?
Can you speak, and can you entrust someone else's spiritual matters?
To keep our body healthy, to keep it healthy, and to take care of it
It is a shortcut to a successful life of faith.
Of course, everyone is interested in their own health and invests a lot.
However, it is important that you become so healthy and do what you do.
It is not just a simple reason to live a long and long life in good health, but to live happily.
To be an instrument for God, to be used as an instrument for peace and joy.
It must have a purpose.
True worship must be offered in the world.
At the market, on the driveway, in the factory that makes things,
At a coffee house where you meet people, at a restaurant, on the sea and grass, hiking, or exercising.
Worship must go on.
God, be praised through my life!
Now for verse 2.
The second thing Paul asks us to earnestly is "Be discerning.
This also refers to our relationship with God.
It is to know God's inner heart and thoughts.
The most frustrating person in the world without knowing the other person's will
He is a person who works hard for other things and does things that are not right.
The saddest person in the world
A person who only thinks for himself and acts according to his own taste.
However, the people we see and live every day do not know their inner feelings,
How, holy God, you seem to be on high
Can you tell me the thoughts of God?
Look again at the first half of verse 2.
"Do not be conformed to this generation, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind..."
The word “accepted by change” refers to a qualitative change, an internal change, and a change in the inner person.
However, it is not easy to change your character, personality, and personality.
When I look at myself and see that there are still things that need to be changed,
You don't know how pathetic and painful it is.
And, when I see people who do not change despite a lot of Bible study, training, and faith life,
You experience great frustration and pain.
Why is change difficult? Why doesn't change work?
If we reveal the reason through today's Word, it is because there is no "renew your heart."
Our hearts are the market floor, like the streets.
Without my permission, all kinds of thoughts come and go in and out of my mind.
Therefore, it is dangerous to organize this mind quickly and not put it in order.
If your mind is confused and full of thoughts and thoughts,
There is no room for the word of God to enter. God's word is not heard.
A heart that is discouraged, a heart that is idle, a heart that is wounded, a heart that sits down,
It is to organize all these and other minds and have a new mind.
In order to refresh your mind, you must also organize your surroundings.
When the Lord visits your home and work, is there anything to be ashamed of?
Get rid of low-quality booklets, tapes, and anything that doesn't help you in your life of faith.
So do my friends. Organize your friends.
Psalm 1:7 tells us to get along well with people.
“Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor walk in the way of sinners,
I don't sit in the seat of proud people."
Now, it is time to find out the third earnest request that the Apostle Paul wants from us.
Look at verse 3. “Do not cherish more thoughts than you ought to think, but God
Think wisely according to the measure of faith you have shared.”
I'm talking about relationships with people.
I wrote a book called 'Yeo-ok Jeon', and he said, "Japan is a country where there is nothing to learn."
You said amazing things. The reason is that in Japan, everything is standardized,
It's because it's a country with a special place.
I call it selfish, paranoid, stubborn, unwilling to listen.
I think it's attitude. A country that produces wrong textbooks, made the comfort women case money
It is a country that claims to be grateful.
President Carter is a man whose life has become brighter and more famous after his retirement.
After resigning as president, he returned to his hometown church in Georgia as a Sunday School teacher.
A certain president of our country objected to not coming from the church he attended after leaving office.
I don't even go to church, and it's a shame that I can't go to church.
The world-famous magazine, Gee, once introduced President Carter like this:
"Carter is the only president to use the White House as a stepping stone"
For other presidents, the president was the goal and destination of their lives.
Carterman on the path of life to go on, the work of life to keep going,
It was just a stepping stone to cross over.
A beautiful life that fulfills God’s will and/or sows peace in people
It was his lifelong business, his goal, not the president.
So Mr. Carter's life itself became a worship service,
It must have been a life that pleases God.
How can I live a beautiful life?
Renew your mind so that you may know the will of God.
And always be humble before God and men.
So every moment in life
We earnestly pray that it will become a beautiful and holy worship service to God.
