True Liberation (Romans 8:1-11)
After losing the sovereignty of the country to Japan and experiencing a lot of hardship and humiliation for 36 years, the Second World War ended with the victory of the Allied Forces and Korea was simply liberated. This was truly the grace of God. The 56th anniversary of the joy of visiting the country on August 15, 1945 has already passed. Looking back, I can't help but question whether it was true liberation at that time. The pain started when the two Koreas were divided by the Allied Forces, and 5 years later, the tragic war that killed and killed my own people due to the 6.25 Incident did not heal the pain, so I think it was not true liberation. Now we can experience and deliver true liberation. I want to receive grace by thinking about what true liberation is and how to obtain it.
1. It is when we are in Christ Jesus. (verses 1-3)
2. It is given to those who think after the Spirit. (Verses 4-8)
Those who live after the flesh and set their minds on the flesh are death, and they become enemies of God and cannot please God. He said that those who think after the Spirit will find life and peace. If you chase after the flesh, lust arises, and if you follow it, death comes. The work of the flesh is death because it is various sins (1 Peter 4:3, Colossians 3:10-15). But thinking about spiritual things and making up our minds is for the things that God likes, so we can rejoice and be truly free. Thinking in Christ Jesus by faith is pleasing to God, and when we are interested in spiritual things, we can please God, and by drawing near to God, we can be freed from everything and enjoy freedom and joy.
3. It is given to those who live again by the Holy Spirit. (Verses 9-11)
The Spirit of God, and without the Spirit of Christ, he is not a man of Christ. It is the image of a slave living in fear and suffering under the hands of the devil because he cannot receive the control of the Holy Spirit. Also, being filled with the Holy Spirit is not just once (Ephesians 5:18). The command to receive the Holy Spirit is continuous. We receive grace for a moment and experience the work of the Holy Spirit, but we sometimes forget and become insensitive because we are human. Therefore, we must keep praying and be filled with the Word. Each time you are renewed under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you will be able to enjoy true freedom and joy through true liberation.
Let me finish my speech.
Liberation obtained by any means and methods in the world and by human strength or effort is only temporary. Moreover, there is no such thing as freedom from sin and death. But in Christ Jesus, where we believe, follow, and live according to His Word, we are freed not only spiritually but also physically, freed from poverty, disease, oppression and fear, and freed from the law of sin and death. Therefore, when you are more interested in and thinking about spiritual things through faith, and when you are renewed again with the fullness of the Holy Spirit to please God and be used for the work that God wants, you will be truly liberated. I bless you in the name of the Lord that you may become saints enjoying freedom and joy
