We are vessels (Romans 9:21-24)
We often perceive ourselves in two ways.
The first is to recognize that I am a great, noble, and unparalleled being.
'I'm better than anyone'. Among those who are self-aware, not a few are stricken with pride and conceit. They value me the most and ignore others. This perception cannot be said to be correct, and there are many warnings about such a person, especially in the Bible.
The second is a person who perceives me as an infinitely lousy being and scorns him wretchedly. He lacks confidence in whatever he does and always crouches down and despises him. At any time, he thinks he can't go out to anyone. It is not the humility the Bible says it is, but it is driving yourself to a place of self-reproach and self-destruction. These people usually suffer from a sense of inferiority and sarcasticism.
Today's text gives us a very important message. The word 'vessel' appears a lot in the text. Verse 21 “vessels for noble use, vessels for humble use” in verse 22 “vessels of wrath” in verse 23 “vessels of mercy” in verse 24, “this vessel”. The word 'vessel' in English is vessel, which is used to refer to a small water kettle, bowl, or plate. Even though it may seem like a small and poor vessel, the potter (God) made it to be useful. Where is the potter who will make a vessel that will not be used? Also, God created all human beings as beings to be used essential and essential when He created them. Especially Christians, in verse 23, says, "vessels of mercy prepared for glory." It is a vessel chosen by God to be used preciously.
1. A vessel to be tamed.
People are created to be precious, but if they are not trained, they will not become precious. In order to do that, a person must be tamed. Children must be tamed from their parents, disciples from teachers, and saints from Jesus. It must be tamed with clean, clean vessels. If you look at the people God uses, they are tamed people.
If you want to become a valuable servant, you must first get used to God's handling. When you are tamed as a person who can obey completely, you become a full-fledged minister and a powerful minister.
"Man seeks a way, but God seeks man"
In order to be used as a valuable vessel, it must be tamed by the master's hands. In order to be used in the church, you must be tamed in the church. Join God's training. There is only one way to be tamed. Education (training, podium). Think of the various life processes as training and receive them well.
2. Vessel for the Gospel
The reason that the saints have become vessels of precious mercy is because they have become vessels that contain the gospel.
A vessel does not become a precious vessel just because it looks good. If you put dirty things in a crystal-clear and transparent bowl, it's not as good as a clay pot. Ttukbaegi doesn't have a bad appearance, but if you put only precious pearls in it, it becomes a first-class storage box. Whether life is precious or lowly is determined by what is contained in it. What makes us valuable is determined by what we hold within us.
But in order to have a good character, knowledge, and appearance, we must have Jesus in it. It has no value unless it is a vessel that contains Jesus, the way of salvation.
Paul said that we are called to be vessels of Christ. All human beings are made into vessels that contain the Gospel, but they do not contain the Gospel. So the value of a person has fallen. A valuable vessel must be filled with the grace of Jesus, the power of Jesus, the words of Jesus, the love of Jesus, the person of Jesus, the patience and compassion of Jesus. I pray that the Word, grace, and power will fill the vessel of your heart so that it does not dry out. The body of a believer is a vessel that contains Christ. Delight is determined by what is contained in a person. God longs for and longs for the life of man by entering into man created in his own image and in his image. God sacrificed his only begotten Son so that he might have many sons. It is to make a vessel that contains God.
3. Vessels carrying the Gospel
God called Paul “a vessel of mine chosen for the Gentiles.” This means that it is a vessel to be emptied for the Gentiles. The life of Jesus filled in Damascus is now a vessel to be emptied for the Gentiles. It is enough for a vessel to be used as a vessel. It is the mission of the vessel to be worn out, worn out, and worn out by the owner's hand. So Jesus' people are "vessels of mercy." Because we are vessels that please God, we need to be loved and to receive mercy. We are to pour out Jesus, and we are the vessels that give off the smell of Jesus. If the bowl was good, how good would it be? Let's not pull out the shape of the bowl. The vessel that contained the bread of life and the vessel that contained living water must now be emptied. by sharing. It must be poured with love on a plate. This is evangelism and practicing the love of Jesus.
Let us receive Jesus and become vessels that share Jesus. If it contains bottled water, you must give it to those who want to drink it. So we empty it again
You have to refill and keep doing what you're doing. We are called vessels for God's work.
We are the vessels to be tamed, chosen as men of God.
