Title: Rooftop
rooftop
Text: Galatians 6: 7-9
'Do not deceive yourself, for God is not despised, for whatever a man sows he will also reap. He who sows to his flesh will reap corruption from the flesh, but whoever sows to the Spirit will also reap eternal life from the Spirit. Do not lose heart, for in due time you will reap a harvest if you do not give up.”
A balcony that is installed on the roof of a seaside house to provide a distant view of the open sea is called the 'Widow Watchtower'.
It is said that there were many houses built by sailors and captains around Kate Cod and the coast of Massachusetts. A wife who wants her husband to return safely after a long voyage is always curious about how he is doing. Sailors who knew this built a watchtower on the roof of their house with an area large enough for their wives and relatives to move a few feet while looking at the sea.
At first, this balcony was called 'Captain's Watchtower'. However, many sailors could not return, and many widows became widows, hence the sad name 'Widow Watchtower'.
What do we see on the roof? Vision is very important.
“Repaying a man according to his deeds, that each one receives according to his deeds” (Job 34:11).
The rooftop is a prominent place. So, if you post advertisements on the roof, the advertising effect is great.
A business elder played golf with unbelieving friends. As the putting didn't go well that day, he said to himself, "Can't we come here today?" At that time, a friend standing next to me said, “Are you worried? You should pray.” The elder was curious and said, “Hey, how do you know that?” When asked, “Go to Yangjae-dong. It is written there.” The main guest has been delivered. On the roof of a small five-story building on the Gyeongbu Expressway in front of the Yangjae-dong Education and Culture Center, a fluorescent sign saying “Why are you worried, you can pray” was hung right before the financial crisis. It is said that many people, believers or non-believers, read this and were greatly comforted because it can be seen day and night by anyone traveling on the highway. Every high spire of the church says, 'Why are you worried? Wouldn't it be possible to achieve the effect of evangelism in one stone or two birds at a time when people are worried and anxious if they write a large message saying 'I can pray'?
There are also people who commit suicide by jumping from rooftops.
The roof is located high up. When a person climbs a high place, it is easy to become proud. So the rooftop is a crime prone place. The place where David sinned was on the roof of the royal palace.
“In the evening David got up from his bed and was walking on the roof of the king’s palace, and from there he saw a woman taking a bath, and she looked very beautiful” (2 Samuel 11:2).
David committed Uriah's wife Bathsheba. Later, after hearing the words of the prophet Nathan and repenting, he was not rejected by God, but the price of that sin must be paid.
“God will judge fornicators and adulterers” (Hebrews 13:4).
As a result, it is on the roof of the royal palace where David's son Absalom sinned against David's concubines.
“Then people pitched their tents for Absalom on the roof, and Absalom slept with his father’s concubines before the eyes of all Israel” (2 Samuel 16:22).
There is a principle of harvest where you reap what you sow. Plant in spring and reap in autumn. If you plant soybeans, you will reap beans, and if you plant rice, you will harvest them according to their kind. Again, take both. If you sow little, you will reap little; if you sow much, you will reap much. And you always reap more than your seeds. This is the principle of multiplication. The timing is different for each type, but when the time comes, you will surely reap.
This harvest principle is equally applicable in the spiritual and moral world. In the spiritual world, we are all farmers. It must be remembered that human life is about sowing and sowing. Everything we think, speak with our lips, and do with our hands and feet is what we plant. It is sowing seeds. So there is a harvest here. Every day I reap my thoughts, words, and actions from my character. Gradually, I reap it in my home. I get it from my church. I reap from my society. Every day our company. frozen. The line becomes the seed, and the seed becomes the sowing, so as you sow today, you will reap tomorrow. What you sow in the present, you reap in the future. What you sow in youth, you reap in old age. What you sow in your parents, you reap in your children What you sow in this life, you will reap in the next life. I will have to sow this with a clear understanding of the principles of this harvest and with caution in my thoughts, words, and actions.
To protect nature, we should also plant trees and vegetables on our rooftops. You reap what you sow. But plant tares and do not expect barley. Do not sow evil and expect that one day you will accidentally become a figure of high character. Do not expect friendship and love, planting envy and hatred. Incubate the snake's eggs and don't expect the chicks to wake up. Sow slander and slander and do not expect to be repaid in good faith. You who despise other people's character, expecting you to be respected is like planting tangja and expecting citrus. A lazy person expecting success is like expecting grain in an unplanted field. You will reap what you sow. This is the natural iron law of causation, the law of God. The more you put that knowledge into your brain, the more you will become educated, and the more you practice, the more you will become a champion. What is sown with the flesh is flesh, and what is sown with the spirit is spirit.
The future must be planted. We must first plant the seeds of faith, the seeds of repentance, the seeds of prayer, the seeds of love, and the seeds of sharing. Then there is tomorrow, and tomorrow again.
So is our faith. You must sow the seed of blessing before God to receive God's protection and salvation. How can we be blessed when we do not pray in faith, do not believe the Word, do not serve, and do not give loyalty to God! If you want to receive blessings, you must sow the seeds to receive them. To receive blessings, you must know and practice the secret to receiving blessings. When we put the seeds of blessing in God's hands, we will reap the fruits of blessings 30 times, 60 times, and 100 times more. We must please God while we live on this earth and strive to expand the kingdom of God so that we can have hope and heaven even in death. .
*Prayer: God righteous! We fear God with fear and trembling, who repays us according to our deeds. Let us follow Jesus and take the good and forsake the evil. Give me courage and courage not to be afraid to share the Gospel. Help me to remember the hand of God who is with me and helps me even in times of hardship, so that when I live for you, I can testify that I live an honorable and fulfilling life. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
