Title: Run to the Mountain
Contents
Bible: Genesis 19:12-22 Title: Flee to the Mountains
Today's message is the fire judgment of Sodom, the second judgment that appeared in the age of the Father. Even in Noah's day, the world was not purified despite the terrible judgment of water, and the seed of sin flourished among Noah's descendants and covered the whole earth with sin. The fertility of sin is terrifying. God called Abraham as the second Noah and planned to multiply those who belonged to him on the earth. Just as there is an 'emergency exit' in a building, Christians must explore the road to the mountain of salvation in advance and prepare for the end by practicing escape every day.
God's Coming
The ultimate goal of God's incarnation in the Old Testament times was to judge the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah. God came to Abraham's house on the way to that place and promised that he would receive treatment and give Sarah a son Isaac. Jesus traveled through Palestine looking for the lost sheep. As the seasons passed, he walked around, providing grace and opportunities for salvation as if he were pulling metal pieces.
In the Age of the Early Church, wherever the apostles went with the gospel, the works of repentance, salvation and revival took place. In the Age of the Holy Spirit, wherever the Holy Spirit visited, the works of repentance and revival took place.
The Sins of Sodom and Gomorrah
run to the mountains
The angel suggested to Lot to flee to the mountain, but Lot wanted to enter a small city called Zoar. Salvation requires faith and obedience in the way God has given. It is like a safe lightning rod that can escape the wrath of God only by running to the place where Jesus Christ died on the cross on Mount Calvary. A person who clearly knows the judgment becomes one who prepares and lives every day. We need to save time and live in a place God wants us to do what He wants us to do. With the resurrection life that overcomes the judgment, we are not afraid of judgment and we live by confessing, “Amen, come, Lord Jesus.”
Prayer/ Help me to look to the Lord of salvation, who will flee in the day of God's judgment. Amen.
